Instructions
Only Anticimex service technicians are allowed to install, replace damaged units, and service installations. Replace the Connect 3 if the device is faulty. To install the Connect 3 the operator must possess a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet with access to an internet connection. To install, the operator should have a user in the Anticimex-owned software system “Smart Device Tool”.
- Use Smart Device Tool to initiate an installation
- Select or create customer and site
- Add installation
- Scan the QR-code of the Connect 3
- Apply power to the Connect 3 and await green flashes of the gateway, indicating beacon mode is active: You can now start to set up the sensors. Start setting up sensors closest to the gateway
- Push the button of the sensor until green LED have flashed 3 times (app. 4 seconds) and await green flashes every 10 seconds, indicating connection.
- Continue to set up all the sensors of the installation in the same way
- When all sensors have been installed, end the installation through Smart Device Tool During this step, the installation will form its mesh and pair sensors
- If the connection has formed without any problems, the installation is complete
- If there are problems, investigate using Smart Device Tool which sensors did not connect: Either relocate them or adjust the installation by adding an extra sensor to solve the problem
- End installation through Smart Device Tool.
- Remember to leave Service Mode.
Connect 3 can be positioned either vertically or horizontally, allowing the gateway to easily be placed The IP21 rating is maintained for the following mounting positions:
- Wall mounted horizontal (with button below LEDs)
- Table top (with button/LEDs on the top side)
Connect 3 must not be installed more than 2 meters above ground. The input voltage is 5V DC, delivered by an external AC/DC wall adapter capable of supplying 3A. The adapter model is a Starwell SK02G-050300Z or SK02G-0500300Z, where ‘Z’ designates the plug type. Do not use another power supply than the one provided with the Connect 3. Use of any other power supply could damage the product or make it operate in an unforeseen manner.
The Connect 3 can use two non-rechargeable AA 1.5V batteries as backup power for the mesh network. Only the following batteries are allowed:
- non-rechargeable carbon-zinc or alkaline 1.5V AA batteries
- Energizer Ultimate Lithium 1.5V AA batteries
Troubleshooting
If the Connect 3 shows a red light, it can’t connect to the backend system. Check that the device has been created in Smart Device Tool or relocate to a position with better cellular coverage.
