- If the relevant skill isn’t active after setup in the manufacturer’s app, activate the skill as needed in the Alexa app.

device, make sure it’s on the same 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network as your compatible Echo device.

devices, make sure it’s within 30 ft (9 m) of your Zigbee hub or another connected Zigbee smart home device.
- If you’re experiencing issues setting up a Zigbee, Bluetooth, or Matter smart home device, make sure it’s in pairing mode.
- If your smart home device stops working after successfully connecting to your Alexa Device:
- Disconnect your smart home device in the Alexa app. Then, activate your smart home device again.
- If your smart home device uses a skill:
- Try controlling the device in the manufacturer’s app.
- If you can control your device with the manufacturer’s app, but not with Alexa, reactivate the skill in the Alexa app.
- Check your internet connection in the manufacturer’s app.
If these smart home troubleshooting steps don’t work, try resetting your Alexa device and smart home devices.
Alexa Can’t Connect to My Smart Home Device Through Bluetooth
To set up Bluetooth smart home devices with Alexa, just power on your smart home device. Then say, “Discover devices.” If that doesn’t work, try these troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure that your smart home device supports Bluetooth by checking the packaging and the device for a Bluetooth logo

- Place your smart home device within 30 ft (9 m) of your Echo device.
