Setup
- Unpack the Tile Cutter: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Check for any damage during transit.
- Assemble Side Rulers/Supports: Attach the side rulers and supports to the main frame using the provided fasteners. Ensure they are securely tightened.
- Check Cutting Wheel: Verify that the tungsten carbide cutting wheel is properly installed and rotates freely. An extra cutting wheel is provided for replacement.
- Laser Guide Installation/Alignment:
- If the laser guide requires batteries, insert them according to the polarity markings.
- Turn on the laser. Position a tile and align the laser line with a marked cutting line. Adjust the laser guide using the adjustment screws (if present) to ensure it is parallel to the cutting path.

Figure 4: The adjustable laser guide and accurate scale facilitate high-precision cuts. The image also illustrates the capability for 0-45 degree angle cutting.
- Stabilize the Unit: Place the tile cutter on a flat, stable workbench. Adjust the support feet if necessary to prevent wobbling.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for effective tile cutting:
- Prepare the Tile: Clean the tile surface. Mark the desired cutting line clearly with a pencil or marker.
- Position the Tile: Place the tile on the cutter's base, ensuring the marked line aligns with the cutting path. Use the adjustable scale and side supports to hold the tile firmly in place.
- Activate Laser Guide (Optional): Turn on the laser guide and adjust the tile until the laser line perfectly matches your marked cutting line.
- Score the Tile:
- Lower the handle so the cutting wheel makes contact with the tile at the edge furthest from you.
- Apply firm, consistent pressure and push the handle forward in a single, continuous motion along the cutting line towards yourself.
- Ensure a clean, continuous score line is created across the entire tile surface. Avoid multiple passes, as this can lead to uneven breaks.
- Break the Tile:
- Once the tile is scored, lift the handle slightly and position the breaking foot directly over the scored line.
- Apply quick, downward pressure on the handle. The tile should snap cleanly along the scored line.
- For very hard or thick tiles, a slightly more forceful break may be required.
- Angle Cutting: The cutter supports angle cuts from 0-45 degrees. Adjust the angle guide as needed for miter cuts.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your tile cutter:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe down the entire tool with a damp cloth to remove tile dust and debris. Ensure the guide rail and cutting wheel area are clean.
- Lubrication: Periodically apply a light machine oil to the guide rail to ensure smooth sliding action of the cutting head.
- Cutting Wheel Replacement: When the cutting wheel becomes dull or chipped, replace it with the spare wheel provided or a compatible replacement. To replace, carefully unscrew the retaining bolt, remove the old wheel, insert the new one, and secure the bolt.
- Storage: Store the tile cutter in a dry environment to prevent rust. Keep it covered to protect it from dust.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Uneven or jagged cuts | Dull cutting wheel; inconsistent scoring pressure; tile not secured; multiple scoring passes. | Replace cutting wheel; apply consistent pressure in a single pass; ensure tile is firmly held; avoid multiple scores. |
| Tile breaks incorrectly or shatters | Insufficient score depth; breaking foot not aligned with score; tile too thick/hard; excessive force. | Ensure a deep, continuous score; align breaking foot precisely; verify tile is within specifications; apply controlled pressure. |
| Laser guide not working | Dead batteries; laser module malfunction. | Replace batteries; contact customer support if issue persists. |
| Cutting head sticks or is difficult to move | Dust/debris on rail; lack of lubrication; damaged rail. | Clean guide rail thoroughly; apply light machine oil; inspect rail for damage. |
