6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Device Not Powering On

  • For OBD2 connection: Ensure the 16-pin OBDII cable is securely connected to both the device and the vehicle's OBDII port. Check if the vehicle's ignition is on (some vehicles require ignition to be on for the OBDII port to be active).
  • For Battery Test connection: Ensure the battery clamps are securely connected to the correct battery terminals (red to positive, black to negative). Verify the battery has sufficient charge.

6.2 Inaccurate Battery Test Results

  • Ensure battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion for a good connection.
  • Verify the battery type selected on the device matches the actual battery type (e.g., Regular Flooded, AGM, GEL, Lithium).
  • If the device recommends 'CHARGE-RETEST', fully charge the battery and perform the test again.

6.3 Communication Error with Vehicle

  • Check all cable connections.
  • Ensure the vehicle supports the OBDII protocol (vehicles manufactured after 1996 in the US, and later in Europe/Asia, are generally compliant).
  • Try the device on another OBDII compliant vehicle to rule out a device issue.
