7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the lens and PIR sensors with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or smudges. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Replacement: Replace all batteries simultaneously when the low battery indicator appears. Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types.
- Memory Card: Regularly back up data from your memory card and format it periodically to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries and store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
8. Troubleshooting
- Camera not powering on:
- Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with proper polarity and are fully charged. Check if the power switch is in the 'TEST' or 'ON' position.
- No images/videos captured:
- Verify the camera is in 'ON' mode. Check PIR sensitivity settings; adjust to 'High' if necessary. Ensure the memory card is inserted correctly and has sufficient free space. Format the memory card if issues persist.
- Poor image/video quality:
- Clean the camera lens and PIR sensors. Ensure the camera is set to the desired resolution (e.g., 48MP for photos, 1080P for video). Check for obstructions in front of the lens.
- Short battery life:
- Ensure you are using fresh, high-quality AA alkaline batteries. Frequent triggers or extreme cold weather can reduce battery life. Consider reducing PIR sensitivity or trigger interval if applicable.
9. User Tips
- Optimal Placement: For best results, mount the camera facing north or south to avoid direct sunlight on the lens, which can cause overexposure or false triggers.
- Clear Line of Sight: Ensure there are no branches or tall grass directly in front of the PIR sensor that could cause unwanted triggers or obstruct the view.
- Test Mode Verification: Always use 'TEST' mode to walk in front of the camera and verify the PIR detection range and angle before leaving it in 'ON' mode.
- Battery Type: While alkaline batteries are specified, some users find that lithium AA batteries offer better performance in cold weather and longer overall life.
