1. Important Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before you use this device. Do not make any changes or create settings that are not described in this manual. If physical damage, loss of data or damage is caused by failure to follow instructions, the warranty does not apply.

  • To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the device to rain or moisture. Objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should not be placed on this device.
  • Do not place this device on soft surfaces such as tablecloths or carpets, otherwise the device could be a fire hazard.
  • Do not place this device in areas susceptible to excessive dust and dirt or near any appliance generating a strong magnetic field.
  • To prevent overheating, do not block or clog the ventilation holes.
  • Never place this device in a confined space. Always leave enough space around this device for ventilation.
  • Protect this device from overexposure to direct sunlight, heat, large temperature fluctuations and moisture. Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • When this device is running for a long period of time, the surface may become hot. Shut it down immediately and unplug the charger. Resume operation after this device has cooled down.
  • Always handle this device with care. Avoid touching the lens. Do not allow children to handle the device without supervision.
  • Use attachments or accessories specified by the manufacturer only.
  • Avoid extreme vibration as it may damage the internal components.

3. Product Overview

The Magcubic L018 is a 360° removable portable projector designed for versatile entertainment. It features 1080P native resolution with 8K support, 650 ANSI lumens brightness, and a 20000:1 contrast ratio for clear and detailed images.

3.1 Interfaces and Accessories

3.2 Remote Control

The remote control allows for easy navigation and adjustment of projector settings. Please point the remote control toward the IR receiver on the projector.

Remote Control Buttons:

  • ON/OFF: Power on/off the projector.
  • MUTE: Mute/unmute audio.
  • DIRECTIONS (Up/Down/Left/Right): Navigate menus.
  • OK: Confirm selection.
  • RETURN: Go back to the previous screen.
  • MENU: Access main menu.
  • BT AIR: Bluetooth Air Mouse mode.
  • REMOTE: Switch remote control mode.
  • SWITCH TO MOUSE CONTROL: Activate mouse pointer.
  • ELECTRONIC FOCUS (A/F): Adjust focus electronically.
  • VOL+/-: Adjust volume.
  • HOME: Go to the home screen.

Remote Control Attention:

  • Do not submerge the remote control in water.
  • Do not put the remote control near fire or in wet or hot places.
  • Do not use old and new batteries together.
  • Please take the batteries out if not using the remote control for a long time to avoid battery leakage.
  • Please use the remote control within 6 meters distance and 30-degree angle.

4. Getting Started

4.1 Initial Setup

  1. Plug the power cable into the projector and then into a power outlet.
  2. Press the power button on the projector or remote control to turn on the projector.

4.2 Adjusting Image Clarity (Focus & Keystone)

If the image appears blurry, follow these steps:

  • Auto Keystone Correction: Go to Settings > Display > Auto Keystone Correction and turn it on.
  • Manual Keystone Correction: If auto-correction is not sufficient, enter Manual Keystone to adjust the image manually.
  • Focus Adjustment: Press the ELECTRONIC FOCUS (A/F) button on the remote control to get the best clarity.

Tips for Clarity: Make sure the projector is horizontal to the projector screen for optimal results.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Networking Settings

To connect to the internet:

  • Go to Settings > Network Settings > Wireless Network/Hotspot settings.
  • Select your desired Wi-Fi network and enter the password, or set up a mobile hotspot.

5.2 Bluetooth Settings

To pair Bluetooth devices:

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth Settings > BT Switch.
  • Search for and select the device you want to connect to.

5.3 Language and Keyboard

To set the language and input method:

  • Go to Settings > Language and keyboard to set up the language and select the input method.

5.4 Projection Settings

Customize your projection experience:

  • Go to Settings > Projector setting.
  • Options include: Installation Mode, Device Mode, Digital Scaling, Auto Focus, Auto Four Corner Correction, Screen Recognition, Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance, Manual trapezoidal, Reset trapezoidal correction.

5.5 Application Settings

Manage your applications:

  • Go to Settings > All applications.
  • Access pre-installed apps like App Store, Bluetooth speaker, Music, Play Store, Screen Cast, and WPS Office.

5.6 Date and Time Settings

To adjust date and time:

  • Go to Setting > Date and time settings to set up Date, Time, Time zone, and time format.

5.7 Other Settings

Additional system configurations:

  • Go to Setting > Other Setting.
  • Options include: External Input at Boot, Button Sound, Screen Saver, Scheduled Power Off, Restore Factory Settings, Developer Mode.

5.8 Screen Cast / Wireless Screen Mirroring

Seamlessly cast content from your phone, tablet, or laptop:

  • Go to Settings > Application Settings > Screen Cast.
  • Open the Screen Cast service and turn on phone mirroring.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions for connection (supports Miracast, Airplay, DLNA).

5.9 Zoom In & Zoom Out

Adjust the image size without moving the projector:

  • Easily adjust the image size from 50%-100%.
  • Note: After using this function, the projector needs to be moved slightly for the auto-focus and keystone correction to take effect.

5.10 Projection Modes

The projector offers three distinct modes to suit your viewing preferences:

  • Standard Mode: Balanced settings for general viewing.
  • Highlight Mode: Enhanced brightness for clearer images in brighter environments.
  • Energy Saving Mode: Reduces power consumption, ideal for extended use.

5.11 Built-in Android 14 System

The projector comes with a built-in Android 14 system, providing a smart TV experience directly from the device.

5.12 Chip Upgrade Information

The products are being gradually upgraded, and some products have been upgraded to Android 14 + H726 chips. New and old products are shipped randomly.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning Method

To clean the projector:

  1. Prepare a screwdriver. Unscrew the necessary screws to access the internal components.
  2. Clean the projector, especially the lens and ventilation areas, using a soft cotton swab.
  3. Reinstall the bottom cover after cleaning, ensuring all screws are securely fastened.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Blurry Image

If the projected image is blurry:

  • Ensure the projector is placed horizontally to the projection surface.
  • Use the ELECTRONIC FOCUS (A/F) button on the remote control to manually adjust the focus.
  • Check Settings > Display > Auto Keystone Correction and ensure it is enabled, or use Manual Keystone for fine-tuning.

9. User Tips

  • For the best viewing experience, use the projector in a dark environment.
  • Experiment with the different projection modes (Standard, Highlight, Energy Saving) to find what works best for your content and lighting conditions.
  • Utilize the 360° removable stand to project onto ceilings or walls for unique viewing angles.
  • When using the zoom function, remember to slightly move the projector afterwards to trigger auto-focus and keystone correction for a sharp image.
