5. Setup Guide

5.1 Connecting the Receiver

Follow these steps to connect your GTMEDIA V7 HD receiver to your television and satellite dish:

  1. LNB IN: Connect the coaxial cable from your satellite dish to the "LNB IN" port on the back of the receiver.
  2. HDMI: Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the "HDMI" port on the receiver and the other end to an available HDMI input on your TV.
  3. CVBS (Optional): If your TV does not have an HDMI input, connect the RCA cables (Yellow for video, Red for right audio, White for left audio) to the "CVBS" ports on the receiver and the corresponding inputs on your TV.
  4. USB WiFi Dongle: Insert the provided USB WiFi dongle into the USB port on the front or back of the receiver.
  5. Power: Connect the power adapter to the "DC 12V" port on the receiver and then plug it into a power outlet.

5.2 Initial Power On and Basic Settings

After connecting all cables, turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI or AV input. The receiver should power on automatically or can be turned on using the remote control.

  1. Language Selection: On the first boot, you may be prompted to select your preferred language.
  2. Network Configuration:
    • Navigate to the Network settings menu.
    • Select "Wi-Fi" and choose your home network from the list.
    • Enter your Wi-Fi password using the remote control and confirm.
    • Ensure the receiver is connected to the internet for online features and updates.
  3. Satellite Installation:
    • Go to the "Installation" or "Satellite Setup" menu.
    • Select your satellite (e.g., Astra 1C, Eutelsat).
    • Configure LNB settings (LNB Type, LNB Frequency, DiSEqC settings) according to your satellite dish setup.
    • Perform a "Scan" to search for available channels. This process may take several minutes.

6. Operation

6.1 Channel Viewing

Once channels are scanned, you can navigate them using the remote control's CH+/CH- buttons or by entering the channel number directly. Press "OK" to view the channel list.

6.2 PVR (Personal Video Recorder) Function

To use the PVR function, connect a USB storage device (e.g., USB flash drive or external hard drive) to the receiver's USB port. You can then record live TV programs, pause, or rewind live broadcasts. Refer to the on-screen menu for PVR settings and controls.

6.3 Online Applications

The receiver supports various online applications. Ensure your device is connected to the internet via the USB WiFi dongle. Navigate to the "Network" or "Multimedia" section in the main menu to access applications like YouTube.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the receiver. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the receiver has adequate ventilation. Do not block the ventilation openings.

  • Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store it in a cool, dry place.
