- Scan QR Code: The app will display a QR code. Face the doorbell camera lens towards the QR code on your phone screen (15-20cm distance) until you hear a prompt.
- Connect: The device will begin connecting. Once successful, you will see the live view in the app.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Live View and Two-Way Audio
When a visitor presses the doorbell button, the indoor monitor will automatically wake up and display the live video feed. You will also receive a notification on your smartphone via the Tuya Smart Life app.
- Two-Way Audio: Use the microphone and speaker on both the doorbell unit and your smartphone app to communicate with visitors.
- Volume Adjustment: The doorbell sound volume can be adjusted from 1-100% via the app settings. This allows you to set a low volume to avoid disturbing others, especially at night.

6.2 Motion Detection (PIR)
The built-in PIR sensor detects motion near your door. When motion is detected:
- You will receive instant notifications on your smartphone.
- An alarm snapshot will be taken.
- The event will be recorded to your Micro SD card (if installed) or cloud storage (if subscribed).
Note: The indoor monitor screen will NOT automatically turn on when motion is detected. It only activates when the doorbell button is pressed.

6.3 Night Vision
The doorbell camera features HD IR night vision, automatically switching between day and night modes to ensure clear visibility in all lighting conditions.
6.4 Recording and Playback
The system supports recording events and continuous video:
- Local Storage: Insert a Micro SD card (up to 128GB) into the indoor monitor's slot for local recording of events and continuous video.
- Cloud Storage: Cloud storage is available via subscription through the Tuya Smart Life app.
- Intelligent Playback: Access recorded videos and alarm events through the app's playback feature.

6.5 Multiple Device Sharing
The wireless security camera supports multiple users to view the camera and past video records simultaneously. This allows your entire family to view the status of the home in real-time, enhancing property protection.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Battery Management
The indoor monitor has a built-in 5000mAh lithium battery. A fully charged battery can last 1-2 months based on 10-20 events per day.
- Charging: Use the Type-C charging port with a normal 5V 1A/2A power adapter. Do not use PD fast chargers.
- Low Battery Notifications: When the battery level falls below a set value, you will receive alarm notifications via the app to remind you to charge the battery.

7.2 General Care
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and monitor screen. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Environmental Protection: The outdoor unit is IP66 waterproof, but avoid submerging it in water or exposing it to extreme weather conditions for prolonged periods.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your doorbell camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause / Solution |
|---|---|
| Device fails to connect to Wi-Fi | Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported. Verify Wi-Fi password. Ensure the device indicator is flashing quickly before attempting connection. |
| Indoor monitor does not turn on automatically with motion detection | This is normal behavior. The monitor only auto-wakes up when the doorbell button is pressed. Motion detection events are recorded and send app notifications. |
| Poor video quality or night vision | Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from obstructions. Check Wi-Fi signal strength for optimal streaming. |
| Battery drains quickly | Frequent motion detection events or live view usage can increase battery consumption. Ensure the monitor is fully charged using the correct 5V 1A/2A adapter. |
| Cannot hear doorbell sound or it's too loud/quiet | Adjust the doorbell volume via the Tuya Smart Life app settings (1-100%). |
9. User Tips
Here are some helpful tips for getting the most out of your doorbell camera:
- Continuous Monitor Power: While the monitor has a built-in battery, it can be continuously powered by connecting it to a 5V 1A/2A power source via its Type-C port. This ensures the screen is always on without relying on battery life.
- Discreet Doorbell Sound: If you wish to avoid disturbing others, especially during quiet hours, set the doorbell volume to 1% via the app. The sound will be barely audible, but the app notification will still alert you.
- Optimal Wi-Fi Placement: Ensure your Wi-Fi router is within a reasonable range of the doorbell camera for a stable connection, especially if your door is thick or has metal components that might interfere with the signal.
