6. Initial Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the coffee machine on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the machine.
  3. Clean Components: Before first use, wash the water tank, portafilter, powder bowls, and drip tray with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  4. Fill Water Tank: Remove the 800ml water tank and fill it with fresh, cold drinking water. Do not exceed the MAX fill line. Reinsert the water tank securely.
  5. Power Connection: Ensure the machine is switched off. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet with the correct voltage (220V/50Hz, compatible with 111V~240V).
  6. First Flush: Before brewing coffee, perform a flush cycle without coffee grounds. This primes the system and cleans any manufacturing residue. Turn on the machine, allow it to heat up, then run hot water through the brew head and steam wand.

7. Operation

7.1. Making Espresso

  1. Preheat: Turn on the coffee machine and allow it to preheat. The display screen will indicate when it's ready (e.g., reaching optimal temperature).
  2. Prepare Portafilter: Select either the single or double cup powder bowl and insert it into the portafilter.
  3. Grind Coffee: Grind fresh coffee beans to a fine espresso grind.
  4. Dose and Tamp: Fill the powder bowl with the desired amount of ground coffee. Use the powder pressing hammer (tamper) to tamp the coffee evenly and firmly. Use the silicone cleaning pad for stability during tamping.
  5. Attach Portafilter: Insert the portafilter into the brewing head and twist firmly to lock it into place.
  6. Brew Espresso: Place your cup(s) under the portafilter spouts. Select the desired brewing option on the intelligent touch screen. The machine features an adjustable pre-infusion function and a timer for precise control. The extraction pressure gauge will show the brewing pressure.
  7. Serve: Once brewing is complete, remove the cup(s). Carefully remove the portafilter, discard the used coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and powder bowl.

7.2. Milk Frothing for Cappuccinos and Lattes

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
  2. Activate Steam: Turn the side steam lever to activate the steam wand. Allow a few seconds for any condensed water to purge, then close the lever.
  3. Froth Milk: Immerse the double-hole steam nozzle just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam lever fully. Keep the wand at an angle to create a vortex in the milk.
  4. Texture Milk: As the milk heats and expands, lower the pitcher slightly to keep the nozzle just below the surface, incorporating air. Once the desired volume and temperature are reached (the machine features fixed temperature automatic milk frothing), close the steam lever and remove the pitcher.
  5. Clean Steam Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly open the steam lever again to purge any milk from inside the wand.
  6. Combine: Pour the frothed milk into your espresso to create your desired beverage.

8. Maintenance

8.1. Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: The removable drip tray should be emptied and rinsed daily.
  • Portafilter and Powder Bowls: After each use, remove and rinse the portafilter and powder bowl. Use the plastic brush to remove any stubborn coffee grounds.
  • Steam Wand: Always wipe the steam wand immediately after use and purge it to prevent milk residue buildup.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the machine in water.

8.2. Descaling

Over time, mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your machine, affecting performance and taste. Descale your machine regularly, depending on your water hardness and usage frequency (e.g., every 2-3 months).

  1. Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for coffee machines, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution mixed with water as per instructions.
  3. Run the solution through the brew head and steam wand until the tank is empty.
  4. Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
  5. Run several cycles of fresh water through the machine to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
