1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of the DMZ-1 Electronic Acupuncture Therapeutic Instrument. The DMZ-1 is designed for home use, offering electroacupuncture and electroanesthesia with sparse wave technology. It features six independent output channels, allowing for the stimulation of multiple acupuncture points simultaneously. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device.

2. Safety Information
2.1. Contraindications
The DMZ-1 device is strictly prohibited for use by:
- Patients with implanted medical devices such as pacemakers.
- Pregnant women.
- Patients with acute diseases, infectious diseases, malignant tumors, and heart disease.
- Individuals with scars, inflamed skin, or open wounds in the treatment area.
2.2. Precautions
- Do not use the device while driving or operating machinery.
- Avoid contact between the instrument and metal objects during use. Ensure the two skin electrodes at the output end of the same group do not touch to prevent short circuits and damage.
- Use only your own skin electrodes to avoid possible cross-infection.
- Do not use the device in the bath or when your body is sweating excessively.
- Do not place skin electrodes on the eyes, front of the neck, heart, or chest.
- Do not use the device in environments with flammable or explosive gases.
- Maintain a safe distance from other electrical equipment (e.g., TVs, radios) to prevent electromagnetic interference.
- Potential Hazard Warning: If a high-frequency surgical device is connected to a patient simultaneously, burns may occur in the electrode slot of this instrument, and the instrument may be damaged.
- Using the device near shortwave or microwave therapy equipment (within 1 meter) may cause instability.
- Using electrodes close to the chest may increase the risk of heart fiber tremors. This instrument should be used under the guidance of a doctor.

3. Product Overview
3.1. Components
The DMZ-1 package typically includes:
- DMZ-1 Electronic Needle Stimulator unit
- 6 pairs of electrode pads
- 6 electrode wires
- 12 metal electric needle clips (for electric needle therapy)
- 1 charger

3.2. Key Features
The DMZ-1 device offers several advanced features for effective therapy:
- 6-Channel Output: Allows for simultaneous treatment of up to 12 acupuncture points.
- Dual Power Supply: Operates via 6 AA batteries or a power cord (plug-in).
- Three Waveform Treatments: Provides Continuous wave, Intermittent wave, and Dense wave modes for varied therapeutic effects.
- Adjustable Pulse Width: Pulse width can be adjusted from 30-200 microseconds.
- Adjustable Intensity/Frequency: Users can fine-tune the intensity and frequency of stimulation.
- Digital Timing: Features a digital timer for setting treatment durations from 1 to 60 minutes.

4. Setup
4.1. Power Supply
The DMZ-1 can be powered in two ways:
- Batteries: Insert 6 AA batteries into the battery compartment on the underside of the device. (Batteries are not included).
- Power Cord: Connect the provided charger to the DC 9V input port on the device and plug it into a suitable power outlet.

4.2. Electrode Preparation and Connection
Before applying electrodes, it is recommended to wipe the treatment area with a hot towel or medical alcohol for optimal conductivity and hygiene.
- Insert one end of an electrode output line into the jack on the device.
- For electrode pads: Peel off the anti-stick paper from the electrode pad and firmly stick it onto the desired treatment area on the skin.
- Connect the other end of the electrode output line to the electrode pad.
- For electric needle treatment: Insert the electrode output line into a millimeter electrode clamp. Then, carefully clamp the needle electrode to the needle handle. This procedure should only be performed by a professional acupuncture doctor who strictly follows operating procedures.
5. Operation

- Power On: Press the power switch. Wait for the power indicator light to illuminate.
- Initial Check: Ensure all six output intensity adjustment knobs (CH-1 to CH-6) are turned fully to the left (OFF/MIN position). If not, an alarm may sound.
- Mode Selection: Press the "Mode" button to cycle through the three available waveform treatments:
- Continuous Wave (F1): Continuously adjustable frequency from 1-100Hz.
- Intermittent Wave (F2): Continuous wave for 1-100Hz, with a disconnection time of 10 seconds and an evacuation time of 30 seconds.
- Dense Wave (F3): Density wave frequency is 1/5 of the continuous wave frequency (5-100Hz), with an evacuation time of 10 seconds and a dense wave time of 15 seconds.

Figure 8: Three distinct massage modes and pulse width adjustment. - Timing Setting: Use the "Time" controls to set the desired treatment duration, which can be adjusted from 1 to 60 minutes.
- Frequency Adjustment (for Electric Needle): If using electric needles, the pulse frequency can be continuously adjusted from 1-99Hz using the frequency setting keys.
- Pulse Width Adjustment: The pulse width can be adjusted from 30-200 microseconds. This feature allows for precise control over the stimulation.
- Intensity Adjustment: Slowly turn the intensity adjustment knobs (CH-1 to CH-6) clockwise to increase the output intensity for each channel until a comfortable sensation is achieved. Do not exceed a comfortable level.
- Shutdown: After treatment, turn all intensity adjustment knobs counter-clockwise to the OFF position. Press the power switch to turn off the instrument. Remove the needle body or skin electrode and unplug the output line. Disconnect the external power supply.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Electrode Pad Care
The self-adhesive electrode pads are designed for multiple uses. To prolong their lifespan:
- Before first use, remove the transparent protective film.
- After each use, stick the pads back onto the transparent film for storage and recycling.
- The pads are washable. Gently clean them with water if they lose adhesiveness.

6.2. Device Cleaning and Storage
- Wipe the device exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Ensure all components are dry before storage.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on. | No batteries or depleted batteries; power cord not connected. | Insert fresh AA batteries or connect the power cord securely. |
| Alarm sounds upon power on. | Output intensity knobs are not at the minimum (OFF/0) position. | Turn all six output intensity adjustment knobs fully counter-clockwise to the OFF/MIN position before powering on. |
| No sensation or weak sensation during treatment. | Poor electrode contact; intensity too low; incorrect mode/frequency. | Ensure electrodes are firmly attached to clean skin. Slowly increase intensity. Check mode and frequency settings. |
| Device unstable or erratic operation. | Interference from other electronic devices. | Move the device away from shortwave or microwave therapy equipment (at least 1 meter). |
If you encounter issues not listed here or if problems persist, please consult a healthcare professional or contact customer support.
