This manual will guide you through the installation, operation, and maintenance of your new motorcycle display.

2. Product Overview

The Grandnavi 6.5-inch Motorcycle Display is a portable, waterproof, and dustproof device built for various riding environments. It features a high-resolution IPS touch screen, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, and supports voice control for navigation and calls.

4. Installation

4.1. Power Installation Guidelines

Always disconnect power and protect your vehicle before disassembling or installing parts to prevent damage.

  1. Avoid plugging the product's power cord directly into a motorcycle or electric car battery to prevent a short circuit that could leave the product without power.
  2. When connecting the power supply, make sure the engine is running or in the ACC position, and verify 12V with a multimeter. There should be no voltage when the engine is off or the power is off.
  3. Before installing and plugging in the power cord, use a multimeter to check the voltage. Ensure it aligns with the power supply connection principle to guarantee the product can be turned on and used.

Wiring Details:

  • Black wire (GND): Connect to the negative terminal of the motorcycle battery.
  • Yellow wire (B+): Connect to the positive terminal of the motorcycle battery.
  • Red wire (ACC): Connect to the ACC power source. This power supply should be 0V when the motorcycle's electrical switch is OFF, and between 11-14.4V when the switch is ON.

4.2. Bracket Installation

Ensure that the installation of the main unit, bracket, and other components does not block the driver's line of sight, ensuring driving safety.

  1. Secure the lower part of the bracket to the motorcycle handlebar and tighten the screws.
  2. Insert the ball socket base of the upper bracket part into the ball head of the lower bracket part.
  3. Attach the ball head on the back of the device into the ball socket base of the upper bracket.
  4. Adjust the device to the desired angle and tighten the bracket clamp.

4.3. TPMS Sensor Installation (Optional)

This device supports tire pressure monitoring for two-wheeled, three-wheeled, and four-wheeled vehicles. Different types of vehicles can be selected and tire pressure monitoring sensors can be bound.

  1. Enter the tire pressure binding interface on the display and select the tire you want to bind.
  2. Install the tire pressure sensor on the corresponding tire. The installation steps are as follows:
    1. Remove the tire valve cap.
    2. Screw in the hex nut and then install the tire pressure sensor.
    3. Use a wrench to reverse rotate the hex nut to push it into the sensor.
    4. Spray soapy water around the valve to check for leaks.
  3. Follow the above steps in order, and the tire pressure sensor will be successfully bound.

5. Operation

5.1. Home Screen Interface

The home screen provides quick access to key functions:

  1. CarPlay Icon: Enter the Apple CarPlay screen mirroring mode.
  2. Android Auto Icon: Enter the Android Auto screen mirroring mode.
  3. Screen Off Icon: Click to turn off the screen.
  4. Settings Icon: Enter the device settings mode.
  5. TPMS Icon: Enter the tire pressure binding and setting mode (requires enabling in settings first).

5.2. Wireless Carplay Connection

  1. Go to the "Settings" menu on your iPhone and enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  2. Go to the "Bluetooth" menu and under the "OTHER DEVICES" list, select the Bluetooth named "Ride Play_****".
  3. Wait for about 20-30 seconds, and your iPhone will display a "Bluetooth Pairing Request" window. Select "Pair".
  4. Your iPhone will then prompt you with a "Use CarPlay with 'SmartScreen'?" window. Select "Use CarPlay".
  5. Wait for a moment, and you will enter CarPlay mode.

Important Notes for Carplay:

  • Both CarPlay and the iPhone voice system (Siri) need to be enabled. Please check if Siri is turned on.
  • Different iOS versions may have variations from the example provided, so please refer to your actual situation.
  • If you want to switch to Android Auto, you need to disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your iPhone and disconnect from Apple CarPlay mode.

5.3. Wireless Android Auto Connection

  1. Go to the "Settings" menu on your phone and enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap on the "Bluetooth" menu to access the Bluetooth search page.
  3. Click on "Pair new device".
  4. From the list of Available devices, select the Bluetooth named "Ride Play_****".
  5. Wait for about 20 seconds, and your phone will display a "Pair with Ride Play_****" window. Select "Pair".
  6. Wait for a moment, and you will enter Android Auto mode.

Important Notes for Android Auto:

  • Please make sure your phone is running on Android 11 or above and supports 5GHz Wi-Fi and Google Play services.
  • Display and settings may vary across different Android models, so please refer to your actual situation.
  • If you want to switch to Apple CarPlay, you need to disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone and disconnect from Android Auto mode.

5.4. Voice Control

Both Carplay and Android Auto support voice commands for navigation, calls, and other functions. Use Siri for Apple Carplay and Google Voice Assistant for Android Auto.

5.5. Bluetooth Connection

The device supports Bluetooth 5.0. You can connect a Bluetooth helmet or headset to listen to music or make hands-free calls. After the initial Bluetooth connection, Wi-Fi will auto-connect for Carplay/Android Auto functionality.

5.6. Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

If you have the optional TPMS accessories, the display can show real-time tire pressure and temperature for both front and rear wheels. It also provides alerts for high temperature, high voltage, and low voltage. You can adjust pressure and temperature units, reset parameters, and clear binding pairing from the settings.

6. Settings

Access the settings menu from the home screen to customize your device.

6.1. General Settings

  • Theme: Set the display theme to Night, Day, or Automatic.
  • Language: Choose your preferred system display language from options including 简体中文, 繁體中文, English, Pусский, Español, Français, Deutsch, 日本語, 한국어, Italiano, Polski, Nederlands, or Português.
  • Set Time: Adjust the date, time, and time display format.
  • Bright Level: Adjust the screen brightness manually or set it to Auto dimming.
  • Tire pressure info: Enable or disable the tire pressure monitoring function.

6.2. Bluetooth Settings

  • Bluetooth Name: Customize the Bluetooth name of your device.
  • Paired Device: View and manage paired Bluetooth devices.

6.3. System Information

  • About: View the current device model, serial number, and version number.
  • Boot Logo: Customize the startup logo.
  • Restart System: Restart the device.
  • Factory Data Reset: Restore all settings to factory defaults.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your device.

  • Cleaning the Camera Lens: Ensure the camera lens is clean; foreign objects may scratch the lens. It is recommended to clean the lens with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Cleaning the Device: The device may become clogged with mud and sand during use. Please rinse with clean water.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: All parts should avoid cleaning with petrol, oil-based cleaners, and other organic solvents, as this may cause corrosion, waterproofing failure, and protective coating failure.

8. Firmware Upgrade (OTA)

To ensure your device has the latest features and bug fixes, you can perform an Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware upgrade.

Preparation before OTA upgrade:

  • Prepare a mobile phone with Wi-Fi hotspot function.
  • Turn on the device and navigate to the OTA upgrade menu: Settings > System > About > OTA Upgrade.

Upgrade Steps:

  1. Turn on the Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone and set it as follows:
    • Hotspot name: Car
    • Password: 12345678
  2. Wait for the device to automatically connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot on the phone.
  3. After the device displays "Mobile hotspot connection successful", click on "Firmware upgrade" on the OTA upgrade interface and wait for the download and installation package.
  4. After the download is completed, the device will enter the installation and update interface (please do not power off during this process). After the installation is completed, the device will automatically restart.

Important: Do not power off or operate the device during the upgrade process.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Grandnavi Motorcycle Display, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Device does not power on: Check all power connections. Ensure the 12V battery power cable (M630 Pro) or 5V USB power cable (M630 Max) is correctly installed and receiving power. Verify voltage with a multimeter as per installation guidelines.
  • Wireless Carplay/Android Auto not connecting:
    • Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.
    • Verify that your phone is running Android 11 or above (for Android Auto) and supports 5GHz Wi-Fi.
    • Check if the device's Bluetooth name ("Ride Play_****") is visible and selected on your phone.
    • For Carplay, ensure Siri is enabled on your iPhone.
    • If switching between Carplay and Android Auto, disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone and disconnect from the previous mode.
  • No audio from helmet/headset: Ensure your Bluetooth helmet or headset is properly paired with the display. Check volume settings on both the display and your audio device.
  • TPMS sensors not pairing or showing incorrect readings:
    • Ensure TPMS sensors are correctly installed on the tires as per the installation guide.
    • Re-enter the TPMS binding interface and attempt to re-pair the sensors.
    • Check the battery life of the TPMS sensors (CR1632, approx. 1 year life).
  • Screen is unresponsive or frozen: Try restarting the device. If the issue persists, perform a Factory Data Reset (note: this will erase all custom settings).
  • Display is too dim or too bright: Adjust the "Bright Level" in the settings menu or set it to "Auto dimming".
