1. Product Overview

The VEKOOTO Wireless Backup Camera System is designed to enhance driving safety for trailers and RVs. It features a 7-inch IPS monitor, 1080P HD cameras with solar charging and magnetic mounts, and advanced functionalities like Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and loop recording.

2. Package Contents

Please check the package contents upon receipt to ensure all items are present:

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Camera Installation

The camera features a strong magnetic mount for easy, tool-free installation. No drilling or professional wiring skills are required.

  1. Attach the camera to a suitable metallic surface on your trailer or RV.
  2. Adjust the camera angle: The camera can be adjusted 90 degrees up and down to achieve the desired viewing angle.
  3. Ensure the solar panel on top of the camera is exposed to sunlight for optimal charging.

3.2 Monitor Installation

Use the provided suction cup bracket to mount the 7-inch monitor inside your vehicle.

  1. Attach the suction cup bracket to a clean, smooth surface on your dashboard or windshield.
  2. Secure the monitor to the bracket.
  3. Connect the monitor to the vehicle's power supply using the Monitor DC Charger Power Supply.

3.3 Initial Power-On and Pairing

The system is designed for automatic pairing. Once both the camera(s) and monitor are powered on, they should connect automatically.

  1. **Powering on the Camera:** Press and hold the power button on the camera until the blue light turns on. This indicates it's powered on.
  2. **Powering on the Monitor:** Connect the monitor to power. It should turn on automatically.
  3. **Automatic Pairing:** The signal will automatically pair once the devices are powered on.

3.4 Charging

The camera features a 9600mAh built-in battery and can be charged via multiple methods:

  • **Solar Charging:** The integrated solar panel provides continuous power supply. The camera enters sleep mode when the monitor loses power to reduce consumption.
  • **Car Charger Powered:** Use the provided car charger to charge the camera.
  • **Home Charging:** Use the Type-C charger to charge the camera at home.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Monitor Interface and Navigation

The 7-inch IPS monitor provides a clear display and intuitive controls. Use the buttons below the screen to navigate the menu and adjust settings.

4.2 Screen Modes

The monitor supports various display modes, allowing you to view feeds from up to four cameras simultaneously.

  • Full Screen: Displays a single camera feed.
  • 2-Split: Displays two camera feeds side-by-side.
  • Quad-Split: Displays four camera feeds in a grid.
  • H-Split: Displays camera feeds in a horizontal split layout.

Double-click the screen to switch between channels mode. The menu can only be accessed when a single channel is selected.

4.3 Recording Functionality

The system supports loop recording, automatically overwriting older footage when the memory card is full. You can view recorded playback through the monitor's menu.

4.4 Blind Spot Detection (BSD)

The monitor has a built-in high-computing power AI smart main control chip and a high-definition AHD wide dynamic light-sensitive motherboard. This allows it to monitor and identify pedestrians during driving to ensure safety.

  • **Activation:** The BSD detection function is turned off by default. To enable it, navigate to the 'Smart settings' in the monitor's menu and turn on the detection switch for the desired camera channels (CH1, CH2, CH3, CH4).
  • **Screen Warning:** When a person or obstacle enters the screen scale range, the scale range will display red, and the monitor will emit a warning sound ("BI BI BI").

4.5 Night Vision

The cameras are equipped with IR Night Vision, allowing for safe backing up even without external lights. The visible distance is greater than 20 meters, with automatic gain control, auto white balance, and auto backlight compensation.

4.6 Language Settings

The system supports 15 languages: English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Dutch, Vietnamese, and Bulgarian. You can adjust the language through the monitor's menu.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Waterproofing

The cameras are IP68 waterproof, meaning they are protected against dust and can withstand immersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. This ensures durability in various weather conditions.

5.2 Battery Care

To maximize battery life, ensure the solar panel on the camera is clean and unobstructed. Regularly charge the camera using the car charger or Type-C home charger, especially during periods of low sunlight or extended storage.

5.3 Cleaning

Wipe the monitor screen and camera lenses with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the surfaces.

6. Troubleshooting

  • **Signal Strength:** While the system offers a strong wireless signal, large metallic objects or dense vehicle structures can reduce range. Test the system in your specific setup to confirm adequate signal strength.
