6. Maintenance

6.1. General Care

  • Keep the multimeter clean and dry. Wipe the casing with a damp cloth; do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Store the multimeter in a safe place, away from dust and moisture.

6.2. Battery Care

It is recommended to remove the batteries from the multimeter when it is not in use for an extended period. This prevents potential battery leakage and corrosion, which could damage the internal components of the instrument.

7. Troubleshooting & Safety Precautions

7.1. Safety Guidelines

  • Electric Shock Hazard: Do not touch the test probes directly with your hands during testing to avoid electric shock.
  • Inspect Test Leads: Before each use, inspect the test probes for any signs of damaged insulation or exposed metal. Do not use damaged leads.
  • Correct Range Selection: Do not use the current and voltage ranges interchangeably, as this can damage the instrument.
  • Unknown Values: If you are unsure of the magnitude of the voltage or current to be measured, always start with the highest available range and then adjust downwards to the appropriate range based on the measured value.
  • Maximum Voltage: The maximum voltage between the measuring end and the ground is 400V DC or 400V AC. Do not exceed this limit.
