4. Setup

The Pointer Type Battery Capacity Tester requires no assembly or external power. It is ready for use directly out of the package.

  • Unpack the battery tester from its packaging.
  • Ensure the device is clean and free from any debris.

5. Operation

The tester is designed to test various battery sizes, including 9V batteries, 1.5V cylindrical batteries (AA, AAA, C, D), and 1.5V button batteries.

5.1 Testing Cylindrical Batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V)

  1. Locate the movable arm on the tester.
  2. Place the negative (-) end of the battery against the fixed negative contact point at the bottom of the tester.
  3. Extend the movable arm to make contact with the positive (+) end of the battery. Ensure a firm connection.
  4. Observe the pointer on the color-coded scale.

5.2 Testing Button Batteries

  1. Locate the two small metal contact points on the side of the tester (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Place the button battery between these two contact points, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) sides align with the respective contacts.
  3. Apply gentle pressure to ensure good contact.
  4. Observe the pointer on the color-coded scale.

5.3 Interpreting the Results

The analog meter features a color-coded scale to indicate the battery's condition:

  • Red Zone (RE-CHARGE / REPLACE): The battery is depleted and needs to be recharged (for rechargeable batteries) or replaced (for disposable batteries).
  • Yellow Zone (LOW): The battery has low power and should be considered for replacement or recharging soon.
  • Green Zone (GOOD): The battery has sufficient power and is in good condition.

6. Maintenance
