1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the XOSS G/G+ Gen.3 GPS Bike Computer. This device is designed to enhance your cycling experience by providing accurate data tracking, navigation, and connectivity with various sensors. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new bike computer.

Important Notice:

  • This manual covers both G and G+ Gen.3 models. Please note that the G model has fewer features (e.g., no sensor/light connection, two buttons) compared to the G+ model. All detailed descriptions primarily refer to the G+ model unless specified.
  • The XOSS G series bike computers require GPS signals to record data and do not support indoor training.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device.
  • Keep the device away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
  • Ensure the device is securely mounted to your bicycle before riding.
  • Always prioritize road safety. Do not operate the device in a way that distracts you from riding.
  • Use only the specified charging cable (Type-C) to prevent damage.

4. Product Overview

The XOSS G/G+ Gen.3 features a 2.8-inch black and white display, offering a 68.8% larger display area for clearer data readout compared to previous generations. It boasts an aerodynamically optimized design with an evenly curved screen.

Buttons:

  • XOSS G: 2 buttons
  • XOSS G+ Gen.3: 3 buttons, with a customizable middle button for lap timing, bike light functions, and more.

5. Setup

5.1 Mounting the Device

  1. Attach the bike mount to your handlebar or stem using the provided rubber bands.
  2. Align the back of the XOSS bike computer with the mount.
  3. Rotate the device clockwise until it locks securely into place.

5.2 Initial Power-On and GPS Acquisition

  1. Press and hold the power button (usually the rightmost button on G+ or the bottom right on G) to turn on the device.
  2. For initial GPS acquisition, take the device outdoors to an open area. It will automatically search for satellite signals (BeiDou+GPS+QZSS+Galileo+GLONASS). This may take a few minutes.
  3. Once GPS is acquired, the GPS icon on the screen will become solid.

5.3 Connecting to XOSS App

Download the XOSS app from your smartphone's app store. The app allows for advanced settings, data synchronization, and ride analysis.

5.4 Pairing External Sensors (G+ Gen.3 Only)

The XOSS G+ Gen.3 supports Bluetooth and ANT+ protocols for connecting external sensors. The G model does not support external sensor connections.

Supported sensors for G+ include:

  • Power Meter

  • Cadence Sensor
  • Heart Rate Monitor
  • Smart Headlight & Taillight (only for specified models)

Pairing Steps:

  1. Ensure your sensor is awake and in pairing mode (refer to your sensor's manual).
  2. On your XOSS G+ Gen.3, navigate to the sensor pairing menu (usually by pressing a specific button or through the settings menu).
  3. Select the type of sensor you wish to pair.
  4. The device will scan for available sensors. Select your sensor from the list.
  5. Once paired, the sensor icon on the screen will indicate a successful connection.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button.
  • Start/Stop Recording: Press the start/stop button (usually the middle button on G+ or bottom left on G) to begin or pause a ride recording.
  • Lap Counting (G+ Gen.3 Only): The G+ supports time-based, distance-based, location-based, and manual laps. Use the customizable middle button for manual laps or configure lap settings via the XOSS app.
  • Page Switching: Use the left/right buttons to cycle through different data display pages.

6.2 Customizable Display (G+ Gen.3 Only)

The XOSS G+ Gen.3 allows for a highly customizable display, showing up to 13 data items per page. The G model displays 6 items per page.

6.3 Smart Features

  • Auto-Backlight: The screen backlight adjusts automatically based on ambient light conditions.
  • Auto Time Sync: Time is automatically synchronized via GPS.
  • Auto-Pause: The device will automatically pause recording when you stop moving and resume when you start again.
  • Automatic Sleep: The device enters sleep mode after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the screen or casing.

7.2 Waterproofing

The XOSS G/G+ Gen.3 is rated IPX67 waterproof, meaning it is protected from dust and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. However, it is not recommended for prolonged underwater use.

7.3 Battery Care

The device features a 600mAh lithium battery with up to 40 hours of battery life. Charge the device using the provided USB Type-C cable. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device won't turn on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source using the Type-C cable.
  • No GPS signal: Move to an open outdoor area. Ensure the sky is clear. Initial acquisition may take longer.
  • Sensor not connecting (G+ only): Ensure the sensor is awake, in pairing mode, and within range. Check the sensor's battery. Re-pair the sensor through the device settings.
  • Inaccurate data: Ensure GPS signal is strong. For speed/cadence, ensure sensors are correctly installed and calibrated (if applicable).
  • Device frozen: Press and hold all buttons simultaneously for 10-15 seconds to perform a soft reset.
  • Data not syncing to app: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the device. Check internet connection on your phone. Restart both devices and try again.
