4. Installation & Setup
4.1 Package Contents
The package includes:
- Motherboard (with heat dissipation protection) x1
- Matching cable (standard Max4 matching cables) x1

4.2 Compatibility and Upgrade
This control board kit is designed to upgrade older Max series devices, including NEJE 3 Max, NEJE 2S Max, and the first generation NEJE Max 4. The installation interface is universal. The motherboard features reliability designs such as a heat dissipation protection cover, surge protection, and electrostatic discharge protection. Do not remove the heat dissipation protection cover.
4.3 Wiring Instructions
Pay close attention to the wiring sequence during installation. Ensure that the input voltage matches the module voltage. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use a 24V power supply for the device. Modules such as E80, E40, A40640, E30, and A40630 all support 24V power supply, utilizing direct motherboard power supply and an additional 2-pin power interface. This configuration allows the module to operate in a stable 24V low-current mode, reducing the load on the power line and improving operational stability.

4.4 Limit Switches and Sensorless Reset
The latest NEJE MAX series motherboards do not require limit switches.
Utilizing new sensorless reset technology, no additional reset button is required. To achieve a reliable and smooth reset action, simply add a 3mm thick buffer pad at the collision position. The X-axis limit switch of the machine may need to be removed during installation, or you can choose to ignore it.
5. Operation
The NEJE MAX control board offers versatile operation through various software and control methods.
5.1 Software Control
The board supports NEJE's complex process control software and wireless control operations. It is compatible with:
- NEJE Win Soft
- NEJE APP (for Android, iOS, iPadOS)
- Lightburn
- LaserGRBL

5.2 Wireless and Offline Operation
The control board supports wireless real-time control using Lightburn and LaserGRBL. You can perform wireless or USB content transfer through these software applications to enable "REC" offline work. The built-in large-capacity memory supports offline operation, allowing you to store a significant number of files without occupying computer resources or LightBurn, ensuring more reliable work.
5.3 Advanced Mobile Control System
The system features an advanced mobile control system with OTA (Over-The-Air) software update service. This allows for continuous improvements and new functionalities.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your NEJE MAX control board and connected laser module.
- Environment: Avoid operating the device in high-dust environments or under high pressure, as this can damage the laser module's lens and internal structure.
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the lens of the laser module. Damage caused by improper maintenance, such as a dirty lens, is the customer's responsibility and may incur costs for replacement parts.
- Disassembly: Unauthorized disassembly of the module or improper air assist can lead to damage and void warranty coverage for free after-sales service.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your NEJE MAX control board, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- Power Issues: Ensure the power supply is correctly connected and provides the recommended 24V for optimal performance. Check all power cables for secure connections.
- Wiring Problems: Verify that all motor, laser, and accessory cables are connected according to the wiring diagrams (Figures 4.2 and 4.3). Incorrect wiring can prevent proper function.
- Software Connectivity: If experiencing issues with software (NEJE APP, Lightburn, LaserGRBL), ensure the software is up-to-date and correctly configured for your control board. Try connecting via both USB and wireless methods to isolate the issue.
- Reset Functionality: Remember that the board uses sensorless reset technology. If the machine is not resetting correctly, ensure a 3mm buffer pad is in place at the collision point and that any old X-axis limit switches have been removed or ignored as per installation instructions.
- Firmware: Ensure the board has the correct and optimized NEJE firmware or GRBL 1.1f firmware installed. OTA updates can help resolve software-related glitches.
- Unresponsive Board: If the board is completely unresponsive, double-check the input voltage and ensure it matches the module voltage.
8. Warranty & Support
NEJE provides comprehensive support and warranty services for its products. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
