1. Product Overview

2. Safety Precautions

  • This product is not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts. Recommended age is 14+ years.
  • Always operate the excavator in a safe, open area, away from people, pets, and obstacles.
  • Do not operate near water or in wet conditions to prevent electrical damage.
  • Ensure all batteries are correctly installed and charged before use.
  • Do not attempt to modify or disassemble the excavator or remote control.
  • Keep fingers and loose clothing away from moving parts, especially the tracks and digging arm.

4. Setup and Charging

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Excavator Battery: Locate the battery compartment on the excavator. Connect the provided 7.4V rechargeable battery pack and secure it in the compartment.
  2. Remote Control Batteries: Open the battery cover on the back of the remote control. Insert 2 x 1.5V AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover.

4.2 Charging the Excavator Battery

  1. Connect the 7.4V rechargeable battery pack to the USB charging cable.
  2. Plug the USB charging cable into a suitable USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter).
  3. The charging indicator light will show the charging status. Charging typically takes 5-7 hours.
  4. Once fully charged, disconnect the battery from the charger.

4.3 Attaching/Changing Accessories

The excavator comes with interchangeable attachments. To change them:

  1. Carefully detach the current attachment from the digging arm.
  2. Align the desired attachment (e.g., alloy gripper, drill bit, catcher) with the connection points on the digging arm.
  3. Securely fasten the attachment. Ensure it is locked in place before operation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Pairing the Remote Control

  1. Turn on the excavator's power switch.
  2. Turn on the remote control's power switch.
  3. The remote control and excavator should automatically pair. A successful connection is usually indicated by a solid light on the remote control and/or a sound from the excavator.

5.2 Remote Control Functions (2.4GHz, MODE2)

The 2.4GHz remote control provides high-frequency anti-interference operation. Refer to the diagram below for specific control layouts:

  • Movement: Use the left and right joysticks for Forward, Backward, Left Turn, and Right Turn.
  • Cab Rotation: Controls for Left and Right Rotation of the workbench (680-degree rotation).
  • Digging Arm: Controls for Big Arm Rising/Down and Small Arm Rising/Down.
  • Digging Bucket: Controls for Bucket Up and Bucket Down.
  • Sound Switch: Activates/deactivates realistic sound effects.
  • Light Switch: Controls the cab lighting function and other simulated acousto-optic effects.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After each use, gently wipe down the excavator with a dry cloth to remove dirt, dust, or debris. Avoid using water or harsh chemicals.
  • Tracks: Regularly inspect the alloy crawler tracks for any trapped debris (sand, small stones) and remove them to ensure smooth operation and prevent damage.
  • Storage: Store the excavator and remote control in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from both the excavator and remote control if storing for extended periods.
  • Battery Care: Do not overcharge the rechargeable battery. Allow it to cool down before recharging.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Excavator not responding:
    • Check if the excavator and remote control are both powered on.
    • Ensure batteries in both devices are fully charged and correctly installed.
    • Re-pair the remote control and excavator (see Section 5.1).
    • Ensure you are within the remote control's operating range (≥ 25 m).
  • Weak performance/slow movement:
    • The excavator battery may be low. Recharge it fully.
    • Check for debris in the tracks or moving parts that might be causing resistance.
  • Interference during operation:

    • Ensure no other 2.4GHz devices are operating nearby on the same frequency.
