2. Safety Information and Important Notices

  • Power Supply: The DVR is designed for a 12V vehicle power supply only. Using a 24V power supply directly may damage the motherboard. If a 24V supply is necessary, ensure a certified 24V to 12V transformer (Buck Line) is used.
  • Memory Card: For normal operation and optimal 4K recording, a high-quality Micro SD card (Class 10 or above) with a capacity between 16GB and 256GB is required. Low-quality or low-speed cards can impair performance. It is recommended to format the SD card upon first use and periodically thereafter.
  • Rear Camera Compatibility: Due to the unique chipset and camera sensor configuration, only original Kocam rear cameras are guaranteed to work seamlessly with this dash cam. For the best experience, use an original Kocam rear camera.
  • Operating Temperature: The device is designed to operate within a temperature range of -20°C to 70°C.

5. Setup

5.1. Installation

The dash cam is designed for easy and convenient installation in your vehicle.

  • Front Camera: Mount the main dash cam unit on your windshield, typically behind the rearview mirror, ensuring it has a clear view of the road ahead. Use the provided electrostatic sticker for secure attachment.
  • Rear Camera (Optional): If your kit includes a rear camera, install it on the rear windshield or license plate area. Route the 6-meter cable discreetly to the main unit.

5.2. Memory Card Installation

Insert a Class 10 or higher Micro SD card (16GB-256GB) into the designated slot on the dash cam. Ensure it is inserted correctly until it clicks into place. It is crucial to format the memory card within the dash cam settings upon first use to ensure compatibility and optimal performance.

5.3. Power Connection

Connect the dash cam to your vehicle's 12V power outlet using the original car charger. The dash cam will typically power on and begin recording automatically when the vehicle starts, and power off when the vehicle is turned off.

5.4. GPS Module Connection (Optional)

If your kit includes a GPS external module, connect it to the dash cam. Upon first connection, the GPS module needs time to acquire a satellite signal and locate. The GPS icon on the dash cam screen will change from red to green once positioning is successful.

5.5. APP Connection (Viidure)

Download the "Viidure" application from your iOS or Android app store. Enable Wi-Fi on your smartphone and connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network. Through the app, you can easily view live footage, play back recorded videos, and manage camera settings directly from your mobile device.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Basic Recording

Once powered on, the dash cam automatically begins continuous recording. The front camera records in 4K (3840x2160P) at 30FPS, and the optional rear camera records in 1080P (1920x1080P) at 30FPS, providing clear visibility both ahead and behind your vehicle.

6.2. Loop Recording

The dash cam utilizes loop recording to ensure continuous footage. When the memory card reaches its capacity, new recordings will automatically overwrite the oldest unlocked footage. Emergency locked videos are protected from being overwritten.

6.3. G-Sensor

The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. When such an event occurs, the dash cam automatically records, saves, and locks the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. Collision sensitivity can be adjusted to High, Medium, or Low.

6.4. 24H Parking Monitoring (Requires Buck Line)

With a connected Buck Line (hardwire kit), the dash cam can monitor your vehicle around the clock. It supports Time-Lapse mode for continuous recording at a low frame rate, or G-Sensor mode which activates recording only when motion or impact is detected while parked. This feature ensures your car is protected even when you're away.

6.5. Superior Night Vision

The dash cam features a front camera with 7 pieces of glass, F1.5 aperture, and a Sony GC4653 sensor, providing enhanced night vision capabilities. This technology optimizes exposure balance, color accuracy, and stability, allowing for clear capture of details like license plates even in low-light conditions.

6.6. GPS Tracking & Playback (Optional)

If equipped with a GPS module, the dash cam records GPS data including speed, direction, and coordinates. This data can be viewed during video playback via the Viidure app or on a computer, providing a reliable record of your route and driving details. This can be particularly useful as evidence in case of an incident.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Memory Card Formatting

To maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption, it is highly recommended to format the Micro SD card regularly (e.g., once a month). This can typically be done through the dash cam's settings menu or via the Viidure app.

7.2. General Cleaning

Wipe the dash cam's exterior and lenses with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the device or lens coatings.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Dash Cam Not Turning On: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and a 12V power source in your vehicle. Verify the vehicle's power outlet is functional.
  • Recording Issues (e.g., freezing, corrupted files): This is often caused by a low-quality or slow Micro SD card. Ensure you are using a Class 10 or higher card from a reputable brand. Format the card regularly.
  • GPS Not Tracking: After connecting the GPS module, allow sufficient time for it to acquire a satellite signal (the GPS icon on screen should turn green). Ensure the module has a clear view of the sky.
  • Rear Camera Not Displaying/Recording: Verify the rear camera cable is securely connected to the main unit. Ensure you are using an original Kocam rear camera for guaranteed compatibility.
  • Dash Cam Overheating: While normal for electronics to warm up during operation, extreme heat could indicate an issue. Ensure the dash cam is not exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods when parked.

10. User Tips

  • Memory Card Quality: Always invest in a high-speed Class 10 or higher Micro SD card from a reputable brand. This is crucial for stable 4K video recording and to prevent issues like freezing or corrupted files.
  • Parking Monitoring Power: For reliable 24-hour parking monitoring, ensure you use a dedicated Buck Line (hardwire kit) to provide continuous power to the dash cam even when the vehicle is off.
  • Voltage Compatibility: If your vehicle operates on a 24V electrical system, you MUST use a 24V to 12V transformer (Buck Line) to power the dash cam. Direct connection to 24V will damage the device.
  • GPS Initial Lock: When first connecting the GPS module, park in an open area and allow a few minutes for the module to acquire a satellite signal. The on-screen indicator will confirm successful connection.
