2.1. Kit Components

The IMOU Zigbee Wifi Alarm System typically includes the following components:

  • Gateway (ZG2) x1: The smart control center that connects and manages Zigbee sensors, reports alarms to the Imou cloud, and pushes alerts to your app.
  • Camera x1: Detects humans, streams live video, and records footage so you can monitor your home anytime, anywhere.
  • Door/Window Sensor (ZD1) x4: Monitors doors, windows, cabinets, and drawers. Sends wireless alerts to the gateway for alarms or smart automation when separated from its magnet.
  • Motion Sensor (ZP1) x2: Detects human body infrared signals, even in the dark. It's low power, privacy-friendly, easy to install, and triggers alarms on intrusion.
  • Alarm Siren (ZR1) x1: Triggers loud sound and light alarms to scare intruders and sends alerts to your app. You can cancel or mute alarms locally or via the app.
  • Smart Button (ZB1) x2: A low-power Zigbee remote that makes it easy to arm, disarm, and call for help. It has four modes: Arm at home, Arm away, Disarm, and SOS.

4.5. Security Scenarios

  • Entry Protection: When a door or window is opened or forced, the Door/Window Sensor (ZD1) detects the intrusion and sends a signal to the Gateway (ZG2), which immediately activates the 100dB sound & light Alarm Siren (ZR1). Simultaneously, the Camera captures video footage and notifies you via the app.

  • Store Safety: When the Motion Sensor (ZP1) detects movement, the Gateway (ZG2) instantly triggers the Alarm Siren (ZR1), blasting a 100dB alarm with flashing lights to deter intruders. Meanwhile, the camera streams live video straight to your phone for immediate response.

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your IMOU Zigbee Wifi Alarm System, regular maintenance is recommended:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens and sensor surfaces with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Battery Replacement: Sensors (ZD1, ZP1, ZB1) are battery-powered. Monitor battery levels via the IMOU Life app and replace batteries promptly when indicated to ensure continuous operation.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the IMOU Life app for available firmware updates for your devices. Updates often include performance improvements and security enhancements.
  • Connectivity Check: Periodically verify that all devices are connected and communicating with the Gateway via the app.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your IMOU Zigbee Wifi Alarm System, consider the following common solutions:

  • Device Offline: Check the power supply for the Gateway and Camera. For battery-powered sensors, check battery levels and replace if necessary. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable.
  • No Notifications: Verify that app notifications are enabled in your phone's settings and within the IMOU Life app. Check the system's arming status.
  • Sensor Not Triggering: Ensure the sensor is correctly installed and within range of the Gateway. For Door/Window Sensors, confirm proper alignment of the two parts.
  • Siren Not Sounding: Check if the siren is powered and connected. Ensure the alarm rules are correctly configured in the app.
  • Poor Camera Video Quality: Check your Wi-Fi signal strength. Ensure the camera lens is clean.
  • System Unresponsive: Try restarting the Gateway and the affected devices. If the issue persists, consult the in-app help or contact support.
