  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the machine's exterior and ventilation openings to prevent dust and debris buildup. Use compressed air to blow out dust from inside the machine, ensuring power is disconnected first.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all welding cables, electrode holder, and ground clamp for any signs of damage, fraying, or loose connections. Replace damaged components immediately.
  • Connection Tightness: Ensure all electrical connections are tight and secure.
  • Storage: Store the welding machine in a dry, clean environment, away from moisture and extreme temperatures.

10. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your welding machine, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No power/Machine does not turn onNo power supply; Power switch off; Faulty power cable.Check power outlet and circuit breaker; Ensure power switch is ON; Inspect power cable for damage.
No arc/Difficulty starting arcPoor ground connection; Incorrect current setting; Wet or contaminated electrode/workpiece.Ensure ground clamp is securely attached to clean metal; Adjust current; Clean electrode and workpiece.
Welding arc is unstableIncorrect current setting; Improper electrode angle/travel speed; Poor cable connections.Adjust current; Practice technique; Check all cable connections for tightness.
Machine overheats (Thermal overload light on)Exceeding duty cycle; Poor ventilation; Blocked cooling fan.Allow machine to cool down; Ensure adequate ventilation; Clean cooling fan and vents.
Poor weld quality (porosity, spatter)Contaminated workpiece; Incorrect current/voltage; Improper technique; Incorrect gas flow (TIG).Clean workpiece thoroughly; Adjust settings; Refine welding technique; Check TIG gas supply and flow rate.

11. User Tips

  • Practice Makes Perfect: Welding requires practice. Start with scrap metal to get a feel for the machine and different settings before tackling important projects.
  • Cleanliness is Key: Always ensure your workpiece is free of rust, paint, oil, and other contaminants for the best weld quality and arc stability.
  • Electrode Selection: For MMA welding, choose the correct electrode type and size for your material and desired penetration. The ARC200 Mini3 is optimized for E7018 and E6013 electrodes.
  • TIG Gas Flow: For Lift TIG, ensure a consistent flow of inert gas (typically Argon) to protect the weld puddle from atmospheric contamination.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Never compromise on safety. Always wear a welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.
