3. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your SIHAO DTF Printer and associated equipment.

3.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Place the printer on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  3. Ensure sufficient space around the printer for operation and maintenance.

3.2 Ink System Setup

  1. Open the printer cover to access the ink tanks (refer to Video 1 for guidance).
  2. Identify the CMYKWW ink channels.
  3. Carefully fill each ink tank with the corresponding DTF ink. Ensure not to overfill.
  4. The printer features a Continuous Ink Supply System and a White Ink Mixing System to prevent clogging.

3.3 Software Installation

  1. Install the provided printing software (version 10.3 or later) on your computer.
  2. Connect the printer to your computer using the supplied USB 2.0 cable.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver and software installation.

3.4 Film Loading

  1. Load the DTF PET film into the roll feed mechanism.
  2. Ensure the film is properly aligned and secured to prevent jams or misprints.

4. Operating Instructions

This section outlines the general operation of your DTF printing system.

4.1 Printing Process

  1. Prepare your design using the printing software. The software supports importing multiple images, allowing you to print various patterns at once.
  2. Ensure the DTF PET film is correctly loaded.
  3. Initiate the print job from the software. The printer is capable of printing white ink and color ink simultaneously for improved efficiency.
  4. The printer offers clear and delicate prints with no ghosting or ink floating.

4.2 Powder Shaker Operation (if applicable)

After printing, the film needs to be coated with DTF powder. If you have the powder shaker:

  1. Place the freshly printed film into the powder shaker.
  2. Operate the shaker according to its specific instructions to evenly distribute the powder over the wet ink.
  3. Remove excess powder.

4.3 Oven Curing (if applicable)

The powdered film must be cured to melt the adhesive powder.

  1. Place the powdered film into the DTF Film Oven or general oven.
  2. Set the temperature and time according to the DTF film and powder manufacturer's recommendations.
    • DTF Film Oven Temperature Range: 0-160℃
    • General Oven Temperature Range: 0-300℃
    • General Oven Time Setting: 0-999 Seconds
  3. Allow the film to cool completely before transfer.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your SIHAO DTF Printer.

5.1 White Ink Stirring System

The printer is equipped with an automatic white ink stirring system to prevent ink precipitation and nozzle blockage. Ensure this system is functioning correctly. If your model has a manual stirring option, activate it periodically as recommended by the software or manufacturer.

5.2 Print Head Cleaning

  1. Perform routine print head cleaning cycles through the printer software to prevent ink clogs.

  3. For powder shakers and ovens, follow their specific cleaning instructions to ensure efficient operation.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Print Quality Issues

  • Faded or Missing Colors:
    • Check ink levels and refill if necessary.
    • Perform a print head cleaning cycle.
    • Ensure the white ink stirring system is active.
  • Ghosting or Blurry Prints:
    • Verify that the DTF film is loaded correctly and flat.
    • Check print head alignment and perform calibration if needed.
    • Ensure the print environment humidity and temperature are within recommended ranges (Humidity: 35%-65%RH, Temperature: 20-35℃).
  • Ink Floating:
    • Ensure you are using high-quality DTF ink and film.
    • Check print settings for appropriate ink saturation.

6.2 Printer Not Responding

  • Check power connections and ensure the printer is turned on.
  • Verify the USB cable connection to the computer.
  • Restart both the printer and the computer.
  • Reinstall printer drivers if the issue persists.

6.3 Film Jams

  • Turn off the printer immediately.
  • Carefully remove any jammed film, pulling it in the direction of the print path.
  • Ensure the film is loaded correctly and not wrinkled or damaged.
