Setup

Follow these steps to set up your TIDRADIO BL-1 Wireless Programmer:

  1. Install the Odmaster App: Download the "Odmaster" application from the Google Play Store (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iOS).
  2. Connect the Programmer to your Radio: Insert the BL-1 Wireless Programmer firmly into the K-plug port of your walkie-talkie. Ensure the connection is secure.
  3. Power On the Radio: Turn on your walkie-talkie.
  4. Enable Bluetooth on your Mobile Phone: Ensure Bluetooth is activated on your smartphone or tablet.
  5. Pair the Device via Odmaster App: Open the Odmaster app. Navigate to the connection section and select "Connect KIT" or similar option. Choose your BL-1 device from the list. Do not attempt to pair the device directly through your phone's Bluetooth settings; always connect via the Odmaster app.
  6. PC Web Programming Setup: For PC programming, visit https://web.odmaster.net/login. Your computer must have a Bluetooth module. For the first-time login to the web version, you need to enable permission in the mobile app by going to "Settings" -> "PC Programming" -> "Open".

Operating Instructions

Once your BL-1 programmer is set up and connected, you can begin programming your walkie-talkie:

Mobile App Programming

  1. Select Radio Model: Within the Odmaster app, select the corresponding brand and model of your walkie-talkie.
  2. Read/Write Parameters: You can now read the current configuration from your radio or write new parameters such as channels, frequencies (RX/TX), TX power (High/Low), squelch levels, and other functions.
  3. Customize Buttons: The app allows for customization of radio buttons for quick access to specific functions.
  4. Share Frequency Schemes: Share frequency configurations between compatible radio models.

Repeater Search & Import

The Odmaster app features a convenient function to find and import local repeater configurations:

  1. Access Repeater List: In the app, locate the "Repeater List" or similar section.
  2. Set Distance: Adjust the distance parameter in the upper right corner to filter nearby repeaters.
  3. Select and Import: Browse the list of nearby repeaters, select the desired channel, and click "Import."
  4. Save Configuration: After importing, click "Save" to apply the repeater configuration to your radio. If you haven't changed other channels or data, you may not need to click "Write" again, just "Save." This helps your radio reach local repeaters for improved communication range.

  1. Pre-configure Online: Before going offline, ensure you have set up and saved your desired programming data within the Odmaster app while connected to the internet.
  2. Import Offline: You can then import this stored programming data into your radio even when no network is available.

User Tips

  • Location Permissions: The Odmaster app requests location permissions to help you quickly find and connect to the nearest repeater resources. You can turn off location services and manually enter repeater information if preferred.
  • Microphone Permissions: Microphone permissions are used for intra-app communication features. If you do not use these features, you can disable the permissions.
  • Built-in Bluetooth Radios: For radios like the TD-H3 and TD-H8 with built-in Bluetooth chips, an additional external programmer like the BL-1 is not required.
  • Account Registration: While the app functions can be used without registration, registering an account allows for data synchronization and other features. If you have privacy concerns, contact customer service for alternative solutions.
