4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Locate the main power switch (often a sliding switch) on the side of the laser level. Slide it to the 'ON' position to power on the device. Slide it to 'OFF' to power off.

4.2 Self-Leveling Mode

  1. With the device powered on, press the Self-leveling Mode Switch (often marked with an asterisk or similar symbol) to activate or deactivate self-leveling.
  2. In self-leveling mode, the device will automatically level itself within a range of 3° ± 1°.
  3. If the device is outside its self-leveling range, an audible alarm will sound, and the laser lines may flash, indicating that the device needs to be adjusted to a more level surface.

4.3 Switching Laser Lines

The laser level can project 16 lines (4D: 2 horizontal, 2 vertical planes). Use the dedicated buttons on the device or the remote control:

  • Horizontal Line Switch (H/+): Press to cycle through horizontal laser line configurations.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the laser level and its lenses with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the laser level in its carrying case in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: Charge batteries fully before storage if not used for extended periods. Do not expose batteries to high temperatures or short-circuit them.
  • Protection: The device is designed to be waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof (IP54 rated), but avoid unnecessary exposure to harsh conditions.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Laser lines not appearing:
    • Ensure the device is powered on and batteries are charged.
    • Check if the laser line switches (H or V) are activated.
  • Laser lines flashing or alarm sounding:
    • The device is likely outside its self-leveling range (3° ± 1°). Adjust the position of the laser level to a more level surface.
  • Inaccurate laser lines:
    • Ensure the device is on a stable surface and within its self-leveling range.
    • Avoid strong vibrations during operation.
    • If using manual mode, ensure it is correctly set for your desired angle.
  • No pulse mode: The CONENTOOL MKS12-G-D laser level, as described in its specifications and features, does not explicitly mention a pulse mode function for use with a receiver.
