6. Troubleshooting

6.1 No Sound Output

If you experience no sound after connecting CarPlay or Android Auto for the first time:

  1. Return to OEM Interface: On your car's display, exit the CarPlay/Android Auto interface and return to the original car's system interface.
  2. Access Bluetooth Settings: Navigate to the car's Bluetooth settings (often labeled "System Settings" or "BT phone").
  3. Connect Car's Bluetooth: Connect your phone to the car's original Bluetooth system. Ensure you connect for "Bluetooth Music" (not Bluetooth telephone) if separate options are available.
  4. Verify Connection: Enter the music interface within CarPlay/Android Auto. The Bluetooth Music icon should light up, indicating successful audio routing.

6.2 Connection Issues / Compatibility

  • CarbitLink Version: Ensure your car's CarbitLink version is 6.0 or above. Versions like 5.1 (e.g., for cS35, GX3) are known not to work. Versions 5.2 (e.g., for DX8S, X90, X70) work well.
  • Supported Vehicles: This adapter is primarily for Chinese-made cars with CarbitLink/SmartLink/PhoneLink/Easy Connect. Refer to the compatibility list in the introduction.
  • Reboot: If connection issues persist, try restarting both your phone and the car's infotainment system. Unplug and re-plug the adapter.

7. Firmware Update

WARNING: If the product is working normally, please DO NOT upgrade the firmware. Upgrading unnecessarily may cause issues.

  1. Connect to Adapter's Wi-Fi: On your iPhone or Android phone, go to Wi-Fi settings. Find and connect to the adapter's Wi-Fi network. The network name will be "Carplay&Auto-XXXX" and the password is "12345678".
  2. Access Update Page: Open a web browser on your phone and enter the following address: http://192.168.40.1:8083/autoUpgrade.html.
  3. Initiate Upgrade: On the webpage, click the "Upgrade" button. You may also have the option to scan a QR code for the upgrade.
  4. Wait for Completion: The upgrade process is expected to take approximately 8-10 minutes. The adapter's standby light will flash quickly during the update. Do not disconnect power or interfere with the process until it is complete.

8. User Tips

  • For Geely models, ensure your CarbitLink version is above 6.0 for best performance. Some older Geely GX3 models with CarbitLink 5.1 may not be compatible.
  • Jetour X70 Plus, Changan Hunter, and NETA V are listed as compatible.
  • Always ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled and discoverable during the initial pairing process.
  • If you encounter any issues, a simple reboot of both the adapter (by unplugging and re-plugging) and your phone can often resolve minor glitches.
