Tips for Streaming Services (Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, etc.)
The projector works with YouTube, Chrome, Safari, and FaceTime when connected directly to a smartphone.
It does not support playing protected video via an app when connected directly to your smartphone (e.g., Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu) due to encryption protocols. You can try playing protected video via a browser when connected to your iPhone.
However, it works with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or any other copyright videos when connecting this projector to a laptop, Fire TV Stick, Roku, or Chromecast. The reason is that the HDMI interface encryption protocol includes Netflix's.
This projector does not support Dolby sound. If there is no sound when playing Dolby sound videos (e.g., from Fire TV Stick, Netflix, Blu-ray movies), please turn off Dolby sound on your device or apps.
To turn off Dolby sound (for reference):
- General: Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio > Dolby Digital Output > Turn Dolby Digital (OFF)
- Fire TV Stick: Go to Settings > Display & Sounds > Audio > Surround Sound, then select PCM.
- DVD Player: If there is no sound when playing from a DVD player, change the player's audio setting "digital audio output" to PCM.
