3. Setup Guide

3.1 Powering the Devices

The weather station display unit can be powered via USB or batteries, offering a dual power supply for stability. The outdoor sensor requires batteries.

Weather Station Display Unit: Connect the provided USB power cable (for FJ3390A) or a DC 5V 600mA USB adapter (not included for FJ3395TY) to the power input. For backup power or portable use, insert 2 x LR6 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment. Note that WiFi data updates require the product to be connected to a power source.
Outdoor Sensor: Insert 3 x LR6 AA batteries (not included) into the outdoor sensor's battery compartment.

3.2 Outdoor Sensor Installation

The outdoor sensor is designed for flexible placement and is IPEX4 waterproof. Ensure the sensor is installed in an open area to maximize the wireless transmission distance of up to 100 meters (330 feet) to the main station. Avoid obstructions like walls or floors that can interfere with the signal.

Placement: The sensor can be installed on cylinders (e.g., poles) or fixed directly on the ground using the provided installation accessories (for FJ3390A).
Optimal Location: Choose a location that allows for accurate measurement of rainfall, wind speed, and wind direction, away from direct heat sources or heavy foliage.

3.3 App Connection (for FJ3395TY)

The FJ3395TY model connects to the "Easy smart life APP" for automatic calibration of network time service and advanced settings.

Download the "Easy smart life APP" from your mobile device's app store.
Follow the in-app instructions to connect your weather station via WiFi and Bluetooth.
Once connected, you can complete settings and view additional data, including local sunrise and sunset times.

4. Operation

4.1 Display Overview

The weather station display unit provides a comprehensive overview of current weather conditions and forecasts.

4.2 Setting Time and Alarms (FJ3395TY)

The FJ3395TY model features a perpetual calendar up to the year 2099 and supports day of the week display in 15 languages. It also includes two daily alarms with a snooze function (adjustable from OFF or 5 to 60 minutes). These settings can typically be managed via the connected mobile app or using the 'SET/+' and 'ALARM' buttons on the display unit.

4.3 Weather Forecast Function

4.4 Backlight Control

The display unit features 5 levels of backlight brightness and an automatic nightlight brightness control function. Adjust the backlight to your preference for optimal readability in various lighting conditions. Refer to your specific model's manual for button controls.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

To ensure continuous operation and accurate readings, replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.

Weather Station Display Unit: Replace 2 x LR6 AA batteries.
Outdoor Sensor: Replace 3 x LR6 AA batteries.

Always use new batteries of the specified type. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

5.2 Cleaning

Display Unit: Wipe the screen and casing with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Outdoor Sensor: Periodically check the outdoor sensor for dirt, debris, or insect nests that might obstruct the rain collector or wind sensors. Clean gently with a soft, damp cloth if necessary. The sensor is IPEX4 waterproof, but avoid submerging it.

No Display/Power: Ensure the weather station display unit is properly connected to a USB power source or has fresh AA batteries installed. Check the outdoor sensor for fresh batteries.
No Outdoor Data: Verify that the outdoor sensor has fresh batteries and is within the 100-meter transmission range of the display unit. Ensure there are no significant obstructions (thick walls, metal structures) between the sensor and the display unit.
Inaccurate Readings:
- Temperature/Humidity: Ensure the outdoor sensor is not in direct sunlight or near heat sources, which can skew readings.
- Rainfall: Check the rain collector for any blockages (leaves, debris).
- Wind: Ensure the wind cups and wind vane are free to rotate and not obstructed.
