4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Keypad

Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the keypad's Type-C port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, wall adapter). The built-in 1500mAh battery provides approximately 95 hours of use without backlighting or 11 hours with backlighting enabled.

4.2 Connecting the Keypad

The K21 keypad supports three connection modes:

  • Wired Connection (Type-C): Connect the keypad directly to your device using the provided USB Type-C cable. This mode offers stable transmission and ensures the keypad is always online.
  • 2.4G Wireless Connection: Insert the 2.4G wireless receiver into an available USB port on your computer. Switch the keypad to 2.4G mode (refer to the keypad's physical switch or function key combination). This mode provides fast and stable wireless transmission.
  • Bluetooth 5.0 Connection: Switch the keypad to Bluetooth mode (refer to the keypad's physical switch or function key combination). On your device, search for available Bluetooth devices and select 'KEYCOOL K21' to pair. Bluetooth 5.0 ensures stable wireless connectivity.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Key Functions

The K21 features a standard 21-key numeric layout, including number keys (0-9), arithmetic operators (+, -, *, /), decimal point, Num Lock, Esc, Tab, Fn, and Backspace/Enter keys. Specific functions may vary slightly based on the operating system and software in use.

5.2 Switching Connection Modes

Use the physical switch or designated function key combination on the keypad to toggle between Wired, 2.4G, and Bluetooth modes. Ensure the correct mode is selected for your desired connection type.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

6.2 Keycap and Switch Replacement

The K21 features a hot-swappable PCB design, allowing you to change mechanical switches without soldering. Use the provided keycap puller to carefully remove keycaps. Then, use the switch puller to gently extract the switches. When inserting new switches, ensure the pins are aligned correctly to avoid damage. Replace keycaps by pressing them firmly onto the switch stems.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Wireless connection issues: Try moving the keypad closer to your device. Ensure there are no strong interferences (e.g., other wireless devices, large metal objects). Re-pair Bluetooth or re-insert the 2.4G receiver.
