1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Srihome NVS008-AHD030 2MP 4-Channel AHD Camera NVR Kit. 4. Setup Instructions

4.1 NVR Initial Setup

Follow these steps to set up your NVR unit:

1. **Connect to Monitor:** Connect the NVR to a monitor using either a VGA or HDMI cable.
2. **Connect Mouse:** Plug the USB mouse into one of the NVR's USB ports.
3. **Connect to Network:** Connect the NVR to your router or network switch using a standard Ethernet (LAN) cable.

• **Mounting:** Use the provided screws and wall plugs to securely mount the camera brackets. The cameras offer manual 360° horizontal and 90° vertical adjustment for optimal positioning.
• **Cable Management:** Route the coaxial cables neatly and protect them from environmental damage.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Local NVR Operation

Once the NVR is powered on and connected to a monitor and mouse, you can navigate the system interface to view live feeds, configure settings, and review recordings.

• **Live View:** The system will typically display a multi-channel live view by default.
• **Playback:** Access recorded footage for specific dates and times. The system supports 4-channel synchronous playback.
• **System Settings:** Configure network settings, user accounts, recording schedules, motion detection zones, and other system parameters.
• **Hard Disk Management:** Ensure a high-speed hard disk with a SATA interface is installed for mass storage (up to 16TB). Format the disk if prompted during initial setup.

5.2 Remote Access via SriHome App

To access your security system remotely, follow these steps to install and configure the SriHome app:

1. **App Installation:**
   • **Method 1 (QR Code):** Scan the QR code provided in the Quick Operation Guide or on the NVR packaging to download the "SriHome" App.
   • **Method 2 (App Store):** Search for "SriHome" on Google Play Store (for Android) or iOS App Store (for Apple devices) and install the app.
2. **Register & Login:** Open the SriHome App and follow the on-screen instructions to register a new account or log in with an existing one.
3. **Add NVR to App:**
   • Ensure the NVR is connected to the internet (network status icon displayed in the lower right corner of the NVR monitor).
   • In the app, tap the "Add" or "+" icon to add a new device.
   • Select the option to scan a QR code. Scan the QR code displayed on the NVR's monitor or on its label.
   • Enter the device's notes (e.g., "Home NVR") and the administrator password (default: "888888").
   • Once added, you can view live feeds, playback recordings, and receive alerts directly on your smartphone.

• **Firmware Updates:** Check the SriHome website or app regularly for firmware updates for your NVR and cameras. Keeping firmware updated can improve performance, add features, and enhance security.
• **Hard Drive Health:** Monitor the health of your NVR's hard drive through the system settings. Back up important footage regularly.
• **Power Supply:** Ensure the NVR and cameras receive stable power. Use only the manufacturer's standard power adapters.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

No Signal on Monitor/App:

• Check all video cable connections between cameras and NVR, and between NVR and monitor.
• Ensure cameras and NVR are powered on.
• Verify the correct input source is selected on your monitor.
• If using the app, ensure the NVR has a stable network connection (check the network status icon on the NVR monitor).

Cannot Log In to NVR/App:

• Ensure you are using the correct username ("admin") and password. The default password is "888888".
• If you forgot your password, refer to the "Forgot Password" option on the login screen or consult the full user manual for reset procedures.

No Recording/Playback Issues:

• Check if a hard disk drive (HDD) is installed in the NVR.
• Ensure the HDD is formatted and recognized by the NVR system.
• Verify recording schedules and motion detection settings are correctly configured.
• Check HDD health in system settings; replace if faulty.

Poor Image Quality:

• Clean camera lenses.

• **Password Security:** Always change the default NVR password ("888888") immediately after initial setup to a strong, unique password.
• **Camera Capacity:** This NVR kit is designed for 4 channels. If you need to connect more than 4 cameras, you would require a different NVR model with higher channel support (e.g., an 8-channel or 16-channel NVR).
• **Hard Drive Choice:** For reliable long-term recording, use a surveillance-grade hard disk drive (HDD) with a SATA interface, as recommended for NVR systems.
