4. Lift TIG Welding Setup
- Connect the TIG Torch cable to the '-' pole (7). (Note: TIG torch is not included).
- Connect the Ground Clamp cable to the '+' pole (5).
- Securely attach the ground clamp to the workpiece.
- Connect the gas hose from your Argon gas cylinder and regulator to the TIG torch (if using gas shielding).
- Select TIG mode using the Mode button (2).
- Adjust current using the knob (4).
Operating Instructions
1. Mode Selection
Press the Mode button (2) to cycle through the available welding processes: MIG, MMA, and Lift TIG. The selected mode will be indicated on the digital LCD screen (1).
2. Parameter Adjustment (Synergic Control)
The HIM200 features intelligent synergic digital control, simplifying parameter settings.
- MIG Mode: Rotate the knob (4) to adjust the welding current. The machine will automatically adjust the wire feed speed to match the selected current, based on the wire diameter (Flux 0.8 or Flux 1.0, selectable via Function button). The display also shows recommended metal thickness.
- MMA Mode: Rotate the knob (4) to adjust the welding current. Use the Function button (3) to toggle or adjust features like Hot Start, Arc Force, Antisticking, and VRD (Voltage Reduction Device).
- Lift TIG Mode: Rotate the knob (4) to adjust the welding current.

3. Welding Techniques
Ensure proper technique for each welding process. Practice on scrap material before working on critical projects.
- MMA (Stick): Maintain a consistent arc length and travel speed. The machine's Hot Start and Arc Force features assist in easier arc ignition and stable arc performance.
- MIG (Flux Core/Gas Shielded): Maintain a consistent stick-out and travel speed. The synergic control helps in achieving optimal settings.
- Lift TIG: Initiate the arc by gently touching the tungsten electrode to the workpiece and then lifting it slightly. Maintain a short arc length and consistent travel speed.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your welding machine.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the machine's exterior and ventilation openings (fan) to prevent dust and debris buildup. Use compressed air to blow out internal dust if necessary, ensuring the machine is unplugged.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all welding cables, electrode holders, ground clamps, and MIG guns for damage, fraying, or loose connections. Replace damaged components immediately.
- MIG Gun Maintenance: Clean the MIG gun liner and replace contact tips and nozzles as they wear out.
- TIG Torch Maintenance: Keep the tungsten electrode sharp and clean. Replace collets and collet bodies as needed.
- Storage: Store the machine in a clean, dry environment away from excessive dust, moisture, and corrosive materials.
Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power/Machine does not turn on | Loose power connection, tripped circuit breaker, faulty power switch. | Check power cable, wall outlet, and circuit breaker. Ensure power switch is ON. |
| No arc/Weak arc | Poor ground connection, incorrect current setting, damp electrodes (MMA), wrong polarity. | Ensure ground clamp is on clean metal. Adjust current. Check polarity for the welding process. |
| Wire feeding issues (MIG) | Incorrect wire tension, clogged liner, worn contact tip, wrong drive roller size. | Adjust wire tension. Clean or replace liner. Replace contact tip. Ensure correct drive roller. |
| Overheating/Machine shuts down | Exceeded duty cycle, blocked ventilation, high ambient temperature. | Allow machine to cool down. Clear ventilation. Operate within duty cycle limits. |
| Poor weld quality | Incorrect parameters, improper technique, contaminated workpiece, wrong shielding gas (MIG/TIG). | Adjust settings, improve technique, clean workpiece, verify gas type and flow. |
If problems persist, contact customer support.
