4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SDS200 Digital Readout, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Keep the display unit clean and free from dust, chips, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning the screen and housing. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the display or the metal finish.
  • Connections: Periodically check all cable connections (power, linear scales/encoders) to ensure they are secure and free from damage. Loose connections can lead to inaccurate readings or intermittent operation.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the unit within its specified environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) to prevent damage. The robust metal shell provides enhanced durability and anti-interference capabilities, contributing to a longer product service life.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the unit in a clean, dry environment.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SDS200, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Display / Unit Not Powering On:
    • Check the power cable connection to the unit and the power outlet.
    • Ensure the power switch on the rear panel is in the ON position.
    • Verify that the input voltage is within the specified AC80V-240V range.
  • Incorrect or Unstable Readings:
    • Ensure all linear scales or encoders are properly connected to their respective DB9 ports.
    • Check for any physical damage to the linear scales, cables, or connectors.
    • Verify that the correct resolution setting (e.g., 0.005mm) is selected in the unit's parameters.
    • Confirm that the linear scales/encoders are compatible with TTL or RS422 signal types.
  • Incorrect Display Language:
    • Navigate to the 'User settings' menu.
    • Use the F3 or F4 buttons to switch to the desired language (Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish).
    • Save the settings to apply the change.
