Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the flashlight body with a clean, soft cloth. For the lens, use a lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- O-ring Maintenance: Periodically inspect the O-rings for wear and tear. Lubricate them with silicone grease to maintain the IP68 waterproof rating. Replace worn O-rings with the provided spares.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing the flashlight for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and recharge every 3-6 months.
- Storage: Store the flashlight in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
- Flashlight not turning on:
- Ensure the battery is correctly installed with the positive end facing the head.
- Check if the battery is charged. If the indicator light is red or flashing red, recharge the battery.
- Ensure the tail cap is screwed on tightly.
- Light is dim or flickers:
- The battery might be low. Recharge the battery fully.
- Check for loose connections. Ensure the tail cap and head are securely tightened.
- Clean the battery contacts and flashlight contacts with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.
- Charging issues:
- Ensure the USB Type-C cable is properly connected to both the flashlight and the power source.
- Try a different USB cable or power adapter to rule out faulty accessories.
- Check the charging port for any debris or damage.
- Water ingress:
- If water enters the flashlight, immediately remove the battery and allow all components to dry thoroughly.
- Inspect the O-rings for damage or improper seating. Replace if necessary.
User Tips
- Optimal Brightness: For general use, the Medium or High modes offer a good balance of brightness and battery life. Use Turbo mode only when maximum illumination is critically needed, as it consumes battery power more rapidly.
- Emergency Power: Remember to utilize the power bank function to charge your phone or other small devices during emergencies, making the FC18 a valuable multi-tool.
- Secure Carry: Always use the provided lanyard or pocket clip to prevent accidental drops, especially during outdoor activities.
- Battery Indicator: Pay attention to the battery indicator lights to avoid unexpected power loss. Recharge promptly when the red light appears.
