8. Troubleshooting
8.1 Keyboard Not Responding
- Wired Mode: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and your computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
- 2.4G Wireless Mode: Ensure the 2.4G receiver is properly inserted and the keyboard is in 2.4G mode (Fn+4). Try re-pairing the keyboard.
- Bluetooth Mode: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the keyboard is in the correct Bluetooth pairing mode (Fn+1/2/3). Remove and re-pair the device in your computer's Bluetooth settings.
- Battery: If using wireless modes, ensure the keyboard battery is charged. Connect via USB-C to charge.
8.2 RGB Lighting Issues
- If RGB is not working, ensure it hasn't been turned off (Fn + Backspace).
- Adjust brightness (Fn + ↑/↓) or change modes (Fn + Pause) to see if it responds.
8.3 Keys Not Registering
- Carefully remove the keycap and switch for the affected key.
- Inspect the switch pins for any bends or damage. Straighten gently if bent.
- Reinsert the switch firmly into the hotswap socket, ensuring proper alignment.
- Test the key. If the issue persists, try swapping the switch with a known working one to determine if the switch or the socket is faulty.
9. User Tips
- Switch Compatibility: The hotswap sockets are generally compatible with 3-pin and 5-pin MX-style mechanical switches. Always ensure pins are straight before insertion to prevent damage.
- Keycap Compatibility: The Mini84 uses a standard layout, making it compatible with most aftermarket keycap sets designed for 84-key or 75% layouts.
- Poron Plate Foam: For enhanced acoustics and typing feel, consider adding a poron plate foam (sold separately) between the PCB and the plate.
- Firmware Updates: Check the official Keycool website periodically for any available firmware updates that may improve performance or add new features.
