5. Setup

5.1 Power Connection

  1. Connect a DC 9V power adapter (external positive, internal negative) to the 'DC 9V' input jack on the top of the pedal.
  2. The unit can also be powered via the USB port.

5.2 Audio Connections

  1. Connect your instrument (e.g., guitar) to the 'In' jack on the right side of the Beat Loop pedal.
  2. Connect the 'Out L' and 'Out R' jacks to your amplifier, mixer, or audio interface.
  3. For external audio input, connect a device to the 'Aux In' jack.
  4. For private monitoring, connect headphones to the headphone jack.

5.3 Footswitch Connection

  1. Connect the included footswitch to the 'Ctrl In' jack on the right side of the Beat Loop pedal using the provided connection cable.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 General Controls

  • Left Knob (Encoder): Push to select loop number or volume. Rotate to change values.
  • Right Knob (Encoder): Push to select drum beat number, tempo, or volume. Rotate to change values.
  • Play/Rec Footswitch (Left): Controls looper recording and playback.
  • Stop/Clear Footswitch (Right): Controls looper stop and clear functions, and drum machine start/stop.

6.2 Looper Function

  1. Select Loop Slot: Push the Left Knob once. Rotate to select one of the 30 available loop slots (NO: 01-30).
  2. Adjust Loop Volume: Push the Left Knob twice. Rotate to adjust the volume of the selected loop (VOL: 00-99).
  3. Record: Press the 'Play/Rec' footswitch (left). The LCD will show a red indicator, signifying recording is active.
  4. Stop Recording/Start Playback: Press the 'Play/Rec' footswitch again. The recording will stop, and the loop will begin playing back.
  5. Overdub: While a loop is playing, press the 'Play/Rec' footswitch. The LCD will show a red indicator, allowing you to record another layer over the existing loop. Press again to stop overdubbing and continue playback.
  6. Undo/Redo: Hold the 'Play/Rec' footswitch to undo the last overdub. Hold again to redo.
  7. Stop Playback: Press the 'Stop/Clear' footswitch (right).
  8. Clear Loop: Hold the 'Stop/Clear' footswitch. This will erase the current loop.

6.3 Drum Machine Function

  1. Select Drum Beat: Push the Right Knob once. Rotate to select one of the 40 drum beats (NO: 01-40).
  2. Adjust Tempo: Push the Right Knob twice. Rotate to adjust the tempo (TEMPO: 040-240).
  3. Adjust Drum Volume: Push the Right Knob three times. Rotate to adjust the drum volume (VOL: 00-99).
  4. Start/Stop Drum Beat: Press the 'Stop/Clear' footswitch (right).

6.4 Sync Function

To synchronize the drum beat with your recorded loop:

  • Hold the Left Knob (encoder) until a 'SYNC' indicator appears on the LCD. This will sync the drum machine's tempo with the recorded loop's tempo.

6.5 External Footswitch Usage

The external footswitch provides hands-free control over drum fills and song sections.

  • 'FILL' Footswitch: Press to trigger a drum fill. The fill will automatically adjust to the current drum beat.
