1. Introduction
The TONGOU Smartlife WiFi Energy Meter is a multi-function protector designed for monitoring and controlling electrical parameters. It provides real-time display of voltage, current, and kWh, along with protection features for over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and leakage. This device can be remotely controlled and monitored via the Smartlife TUYA app, offering convenience and enhanced safety for your electrical appliances.
Note: This meter only supports 2.4G Wireless Network, NOT for 5G.
2. Safety Information
DANGER: Risk of electric shock and life-threatening injury. Installation and maintenance must be performed by qualified electricians only.
- Always disconnect power before installation or maintenance.
- Ensure all wiring connections are tight and correct according to the wiring diagram.
- Do not operate the device if it is damaged or malfunctioning.
- The ambient air temperature for operation is -25°C to +40°C.
3. Product Overview
The TONGOU Smartlife WiFi Energy Meter features a compact design for DIN rail mounting, an LCD display, and control buttons. It integrates seamlessly with smart home ecosystems like Tuya Smart, Smart Life, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant.

3.1. Panel Indicators and Keys

- WiFi indicator: Shows WiFi connection status.
- Kilowatt-hour meter pulse indicator: Flashes with energy consumption.
- Over/under voltage alarm indicator: Lights up for voltage alarms.
- Over/under voltage alarm indicator: Lights up for voltage alarms.
- Leakage alarm indicator: Lights up for leakage alarms.
- SET button: Press to enter the setting interface.
- Adjustment key (Up/Down): Use to adjust values. Long press for 3 seconds to test leakage.
- ON/OFF button: Manually turn the device on or off.
- Adjustment key (WiFi): Long press for 5 seconds to configure WiFi.
4. Setup
4.1. Wiring Instructions
Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding with wiring. This device is designed for single-phase installations. Connect the live wire to the 'L' input terminal and the neutral wire to the 'N' input terminal. Connect the load's live wire to the 'L' output terminal and the load's neutral wire to the 'N' output terminal. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

- Recommended Torque: 2-2.4 Nm
4.2. Network Pairing
To enable smart features, the device must be paired with the Smartlife TUYA app.

- Connect the Live wire to pole L and the neutral wire to N pole. Make sure the wiring is tight.
- Open the Smartlife TUYA app and click the 'Add Device' button to start adding.
- Click the 'Add' button when the device is discovered.

- Enter your router's WiFi account and password (ensure it's a 2.4G network).
- Wait for the device to be added successfully.
- Once added, you will enter the mobile phone operation interface for the device.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Manual Control
Use the ON/OFF button (labeled '8' in Figure 3) on the device's front panel to manually switch the power on or off.
5.2. App Control and Monitoring
Once paired with the Smartlife TUYA app, you can:
- Remote ON/OFF: Control the power supply from anywhere.
- Real-time Monitoring: Review current, voltage, leakage current, and total kWh consumption on your phone.

5.3. Timer Function
The Smartlife TUYA app includes a timer function to schedule ON/OFF operations for connected appliances.

5.4. Setting Protection Values
You can set various protection thresholds either manually using the device buttons or through the Smartlife TUYA app.
- Over-current Protection: Adjustable from 1A to 63A (default: 63A).

- Leakage Protection: Adjustable from 10mA to 99mA (default: 30mA).

- Over-voltage Protection: Adjustable from 120V to 300V (default: 275V).
- Under-voltage Protection: Adjustable from 85V to 200V (default: 160V).

- Temperature Protection: Can be set in the app.
The device also features a prepaid function for energy management.
6. Maintenance
- Keep the device clean and dry.
- Regularly check wiring connections for tightness.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.
- Do not attempt to repair the device yourself. Contact qualified personnel for service.
7. Troubleshooting
- Device not connecting to WiFi: Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4G WiFi signal. The device does not support 5G networks. Verify the WiFi password is correct.
- Device not reconnecting after protection: The product is designed not to automatically reconnect after a protection event. Manual intervention (e.g., pressing the ON/OFF button or using the app) is required to reset and re-enable the power supply after the fault has been cleared.
- How to fully reset the device: If you encounter persistent issues, a full reset might be necessary. Refer to the detailed user manual (PDF) for specific reset procedures.
- Alarm Records: Check the alarm records within the Smartlife TUYA app for details on triggered protection events.

- WiFi Compatibility: Always double-check that your WiFi network is 2.4G before attempting to pair the device. 5G networks are not supported.
- Protection Reset: Remember that the device requires manual reset after a protection event. This is a safety feature to ensure the underlying issue is addressed before re-energizing the circuit.
