4. Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the rice cooker for any damage.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Wash the inner pot, measuring cup, and removable inner cover with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
  3. Placement: Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the rice cooker and then plug it into a suitable electrical outlet. Ensure the plug type is compatible with your region. Refer to Figure 3 for common plug types.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Rice Cooking

  1. Measure the desired amount of rice using the provided measuring cup. Rinse the rice if necessary.
  2. Place the rinsed rice into the non-stick inner pot.
  3. Add the appropriate amount of water. The inner pot has water level markings for guidance.
  4. Place the inner pot into the main unit and close the lid securely.
  5. Plug in the rice cooker. The digital display will light up.
  6. Press the "煮饭" (Cook Rice) button. The cooking process will begin, and the display will show the remaining cooking time.
  7. Once cooking is complete, the cooker will automatically switch to "保温" (Keep Warm) mode.

5.2 Porridge/Soup Function

  1. Add ingredients for porridge or soup to the inner pot.
  2. Add the required amount of water or broth.
  3. Close the lid securely.
  4. Press the "煮粥" (Cook Porridge) button. The cooker will start the selected program.
  5. The cooker will automatically switch to "保温" (Keep Warm) mode upon completion.

5.3 24-Hour Appointment (Reservation) Function

This feature allows you to set a delayed start time for your cooking.

  1. Prepare your ingredients in the inner pot as usual.
  2. Close the lid.
  3. Press the "预约" (Appointment/Reservation) button. The display will show a default delay time.
  4. Use the adjustment buttons (if available, or repeatedly press "预约" to cycle through times) to set your desired delay time (up to 24 hours).
  5. Once the delay time is set, press either "煮饭" or "煮粥" to confirm the cooking program. The cooker will start cooking after the set delay time has elapsed.

5.4 Keep Warm / Cancel Function

  • The cooker automatically enters "保温" (Keep Warm) mode after cooking is finished.
  • To manually activate or deactivate the Keep Warm function, or to cancel a cooking program, press the "保温/取消" (Keep Warm/Cancel) button.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your rice cooker.

  1. Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Inner Pot: The non-stick inner pot should be washed with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as this can damage the non-stick coating. (See Figure 5 for non-stick demonstration).
  3. Removable Inner Cover: The inner cover is removable for thorough cleaning. Wash it with warm, soapy water and rinse well.
  4. Widen the Sink: Ensure the widened sink area (condensation collector) is cleaned regularly to prevent water buildup.
  5. Main Unit Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  6. Storage: Store the clean and dry rice cooker in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Cooker does not turn on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the appliance and the wall outlet. Check if the power outlet is functioning.
  • Rice is undercooked or overcooked: Verify the correct rice-to-water ratio. Ensure the lid is properly closed during cooking.
  • Food sticks to the inner pot: Ensure the non-stick coating is not damaged. Always add a small amount of oil or butter if cooking ingredients prone to sticking, though the non-stick surface should minimize this.
  • Error code on display: If an error code appears, unplug the cooker, wait a few minutes, and plug it back in. If the error persists, contact customer support.
