2. Setup

Setting up your NEJE 5 PLUS is designed to be straightforward, requiring minimal assembly.

2.1. Assembly

The machine requires only 4 screws for initial installation. Ensure all components are securely fastened before operation.

2.2. Physical Dimensions and Working Area

The NEJE 5 PLUS has a frame size of 550x480x140mm (Length x Width x Height) and a working area of 255 x 420mm. The left side of the machine is not limited by material size, allowing for processing of larger materials.

2.3. Software Installation

The NEJE 5 PLUS supports various control software:

  • NEJE Win Software: Recommended for initial setup and firmware updates.
  • Lightburn & LaserGRBL: Fully supported with improved low light function, M8, M7, and emergency stop extended automatic control.

2.4. Focus Adjustment

Proper focus is crucial for optimal engraving and cutting results. The laser module features an adjustable focus method, with a recommended range of 30-55mm.

3. Operating Instructions

The NEJE 5 PLUS offers flexible control options and high-performance capabilities.

3.1. Control Systems

The machine is equipped with a 32-bit 200Mhz MCU for fast response and efficient data interaction. It supports:

  • Wireless Control: Use the NEJE Wireless app on your Android phone, iPhone, iPad, or MacBook to quickly create and control your projects.
  • Offline Working: Once an image is transferred to the device via NEJE Win software or the NEJE APP, the machine can operate independently without a continuous connection to a computer or mobile phone.
  • Repeat Engraving: The device retains location information after a job is completed, allowing you to repeat engraving or cutting if needed.

3.2. Engraving and Cutting Capabilities

The NEJE 5 PLUS is capable of both engraving and cutting a wide array of materials with high precision.

3.2.1. Engraving

The laser beam, formed by combining two high-power laser diodes, achieves a minimum focus point of 0.04x0.06mm (A40640 module) with 12W pulse real output. This allows for direct and clear grayscale engraving on stainless steel surfaces and detailed 3D images on wood.

3.2.2. Cutting

The A40640 module can achieve a 20mm cutting thickness at a 55mm focus, providing clean cuts on materials like acrylic, wood, fabric, balsa, corrugated paper, and EPE. The N40630 module can cut up to 10mm basswood in one pass.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your NEJE 5 PLUS.

  • Lens Care: The latest lens design includes a high-temperature window lens to protect against water and smoke damage. Ensure the lens is kept clean. Damage due to lack of maintenance is not covered under warranty.
  • Air Assist System: For optimal cutting performance, especially with thicker materials, use an air pump providing 0.5-1.5MPa clean air. The needle-type air nozzle supports oily and water-containing air sources, while the sealed air nozzle requires clean air only.
  • General Cleaning: Keep the machine free from dust and debris. The frame material is designed for easy maintenance.

5. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their solutions:

  • Unexpected Stops: The machine features MEMS vibration protection. If the engraving process is accidentally touched, it will automatically stop working. Check for any physical interference.
  • Emergency Shutdown: The door control function provides emergency suspension. Ensure all safety mechanisms are properly engaged.
  • Overheating: The laser module has a built-in intelligent drive with temperature feedback and control. The safe operating temperature range is below 60℃. If the module feels excessively hot, allow it to cool down. The fan intelligently adjusts heat dissipation.
  • Power Issues: The device has surge protection. Ensure the power input is DC 12V 4A or 5A. Incorrect voltage input can cause damage and void the warranty.
