Introduction
Create a dust-free workplace with the powerful suction capability of 2.5kPa to protect machinery and lungs. The quality filter can collect dust and debris as small as 0.5 microns. The 2m flexible hose allows precise suction placement with five different adaptors for various tools.

Assembly

  1. Assemble the filter bag by placing the filter cartridge into it and securing it on the motor casing.
  2. Insert the assembled section into the container and attach the collector hose using clamps.
  3. Connect the other end of the hose to the coupling.

Refer to the operating manual for detailed instructions on how to use the dust extractor correctly.

Maintenance
Recycle unwanted materials and dispose of the product and fluids in accordance with local regulations when it becomes unserviceable.

SAFETY

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

  • WARNING! It is the user’s responsibility to check the following:
  • Check all electrical equipment and appliances to ensure that they are safe before using. Inspect power supply leads, plugs and all electrical connections for wear and damage. Sealey recommend that an RCD (Residual Current Device) is used with all electrical products.
    Electrical safety information. It is important that the following information is read and understood:
  • Ensure that the insulation on all cables and on the appliance is safe before connecting it to the power supply.
  • Regularly inspect power supply cables and plugs for wear or damage and check all connections to ensure that they are secure.

    NOTE: Use on flat, level and stable surfaces in use and during transp ort, servicing, assembly or disposal to avoid overturning, falling or uncontrolled movements of the appliance or of its component parts.
  • DANGER! DO NOT extract hot or glowing ash, cigarette ends, inflammable, explosive, corrosive or other dangerous substances.
  • DO NOT use to extract soot.
  • DO NOT use as a seat as this may damage the unit.
  • DO NOT operate the unit in rooms where the danger of an explosion exi sts. The dusts, vapours or fluids can ignite or explode.
  • DO NOT use to extract the following health hazardous dusts:
    Class L (soft woods and solid surface material), Class M (hard woods, board materials, concrete and brick dust),
    Class H (asbestos and mould).
  • DO NOT operate the extractor without the filter in place. Using the unit without the filter may result in motor failure and will invalidate the warranty.
  • DO NOT operate the unit to attempt extraction of inflammable or explosive fluids such as benzene, oil, alcohol, or solvents.
  • DO NOT place the attachments close to your face.
  • DO NOT point the hose end at other persons or animals.
  • DO NOT leave the extractor running unattended. Turn the power supply OFF when not in use.
  • DO NOT operate the extractor while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or intoxicating medication.
  • DO NOT use the extractor in the rain or in very damp conditions.
  • DO NOT use the extractor for a task it is not designed to perform.
  • Disconnect the extractor from the power supply before servicing, changing accessories, or performing and maintenance.
  • Provide good ventilation of work place.
  • Use only genuine parts and accessories. Unauthorised parts and accessories may be dangerous and will invalidate your warranty.
  • Maintain the extractor in good condition. Use authorised qualified agent for servicing.

INTRODUCTION

Create a dust-free workplace with 2.5kPa of suction, to protect machinery and lungs from dust. Quality filter (1x supplied) collects dust and debris as small as 0.5 microns. 2m Flexible hose allows you to focus suction exactly where you need it (via 100mm outlet). Five different-sized adaptors (105, 70, 45, 40 and 35mm) to allow fixing to extraction ports on most drills, saws and sanders. 50L Capacity drum makes unit suitable for the workshop.

ASSEMBLY

ASSEMBLING FILTER BAG

  1. Place filter cartridge (9) into filter bag (10) (see fig.3).
  2. Fold excess bag (10) inside the filter cartridge (9) (see fig 4).SEALEY-SM68-Portable-Dust-Extractor- (5)
  3. Plug assembled filter cartridge (9, 10) onto motor casing (1) (see fig.5).
  4. Place the entire section into the container (2) and secure with locking strap (4).
  5. Mount the collector hose (5) to the container (2) using one of the hose clamps (6) (see fig.6).SEALEY-SM68-Portable-Dust-Extractor- (6)
  6. Attach the other end of the collection hose (5) to the hose coupling (7) using the other hose clamp (6) (see fig.7)SEALEY-SM68-Portable-Dust-Extractor- (7)

OPERATION

NOTE: Ensure all Safety Instructions in Section 1 are read and understood and carried out before use and save the instructions and warnings for future reference.
NOTE: Make sure all fittings are tight and securely in place before starting the unit.

POWER SWITCH
WARNING! Ensure that the extractor power switch is in the OFF position prior to connecting to the electrical mains.

  1. Plug the extractor into the electrical mains.
  2. To turn the extractor on, press the I (ON) on the power switch (fig 1).
  3. To turn extractor off, press the O (OFF) on the power switch (fig 1).

EMPTYING THE TANK
WARNING! Ensure that the power switch is in the OFF position and the plug is removed from the electrical mains.

  1. Release the locking strap (fig 1) and remove the motor plate and place in a secure location.
  2. Empty the contents into a suitable container.
    NOTE: Dispose of the contents properly according to local regulations.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING! The appliance shall be disconnected from its power source during service and when replacing parts and, if that the removal of the plug is foreseen, it shall be clearly indicated that the removal of the plug has to be such that an operator can
from any of the points to which he has access that the plug remains removed.
WARNING! Prior to carrying out any maintenance or cleaning, isolate the extractor from the electrical power source.
FILTER CLEANING

  1. When there is a notable reduction of suction the filter will require cleaning.
  2. Remove the motor casing from the tank.
  3. Remove the filter . See Section 5, fig.3.
  4. For routine cleaning, remove any deposits using a soft bristle brush (not supplied) into a suitable container .
    NOTE: Dispose of the waste properly according to local regulations.
    WARNING! Avoid breathing in any airborne dust.

CLEANING

  1. DO NOT use abrasive or solvent cleaners. Clean with a damp cloth.
  2. Wipe out container using clean, dry cloth.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations.SEALEY-SM68-Portable-Dust-Extractor- (8)

WEEE REGULATIONS
Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid waste authority for recycling information.
