    Question

How do I troubleshoot Bluetooth connectivity issues on the Oakcastle CD100?

    Answer

To resolve Bluetooth connectivity issues with your Oakcastle CD100, please follow these specific steps from the manual:

    • Enter Bluetooth Mode: Switch the device on and wait for the CD to load. Press and hold the Mode button (Ref.8) until the Bluetooth logo appears on the display screen (Ref.3).
    • Pairing Status: While the Bluetooth logo is flashing, the player is searching for a connection. It will only become static (stop flashing) once it has successfully paired with your headset.
    • External Device Pairing: Ensure your headset is in 'pairing mode'. The CD100 will automatically attempt to connect to the nearest available Bluetooth device in pairing mode.
    • Check the Hold Switch: Ensure the On/Off/Hold switch (Ref.1) is not in the 'Hold' position, as this disables button functionality.
    • Distance: Ensure your headset is within close range of the CD player during the initial pairing process.

If the logo continues to flash and never becomes static, try resetting the connection by pressing and holding the Mode button to turn Bluetooth off, then repeat the process. If the issue persists, you may wish to contact Oakcastle support at www.oakcastle.co.uk to utilize your 3-year warranty (if registered).

    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

Can the Oakcastle CD100 be powered permanently from the mains using a power lead?

    Answer

Yes, it is possible to run the Oakcastle CD100 from a mains power source. According to the manual, you can connect the included USB to micro USB charging cable (Ref.2) to any standard USB 2.0 connection, such as a mains USB adapter.

While the device is designed with an internal rechargeable battery for portability, the manual confirms that it can be powered via a mains USB adapter for charging and operation. To do this safely, ensure you use an appropriate power lead and a standard 5V/1A USB mains adapter as specified in the product's technical specifications.

  3. I was unable to connect this unit to my mini bluetooth amplifier

Alan David Schweller asks I was unable to connect this unit to my mini bluetooth amplifier
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

How do I connect the Oakcastle CD100 to a Bluetooth amplifier?

    Answer

To connect your Oakcastle CD100 to an external Bluetooth device like an amplifier, please follow these steps:

    • Power On: Switch the device to 'ON' and wait for your CD to load.
    • Enter Bluetooth Mode: Press and hold the 'Mode' button (Ref.8) until the Bluetooth logo appears on the display screen.
    • Pairing: While searching for a connection, the Bluetooth logo will flash. Ensure your mini amplifier is also in pairing mode.
    • Confirmation: Once successfully connected, the Bluetooth logo on the CD100 display will stop flashing and remain static.

    Troubleshooting Tips:

    • Ensure the CD100 is within range of the amplifier.
    • Check that the CD100 is not already connected to another Bluetooth device (like headphones).
    • If Bluetooth continues to fail, you can use the included 3.5mm to 3.5mm AUX cable to connect the CD100's headphone port (Ref.11) directly to the amplifier's AUX input.
    • Note that the CD100 uses Bluetooth version 4.2; ensure your amplifier is compatible with this standard.
  4. My player is displaying POU sign upside down and will not play

Stanford Marcellus Smith asks My player is displaying POU sign upside down and will not play
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

Why is my Oakcastle CD100 displaying an upside-down 'POU' sign and not playing?

    Answer

The message you are seeing is likely 'HOLD' displayed upside down. This occurs when the On/Off/Hold switch is set to the 'Hold' position.

When the device is in 'Hold' mode, all buttons are inactive to prevent accidental presses, and the player will not start playback. To resolve this:

    • Locate the On/Off/Hold switch (Ref.1) on the side of the player.
    • Slide the switch away from the 'HOLD' position to the 'ON' position.
    • Once the switch is moved, the buttons should become responsive again, allowing you to press Play/Pause (Ref.4) to start your CD.

If the player still does not play after disabling 'Hold' mode, ensure the disc door is completely closed and that the disc is inserted with the label side facing up.

  5. I’ve failed to hook it up with my Kia Stonic 2021 Radio

Vera Coyne asks I've failed to hook it up with my Kia Stonic 2021 Radio
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

How do I connect my Oakcastle CD100 to my car radio via Bluetooth or AUX?

    Answer

To connect your Oakcastle CD100 to a car radio like the one in your Kia Stonic, you have two primary options: AUX Cable or Bluetooth.

    • Option 1: AUX Connection (Recommended for Cars)
Most modern car infotainment systems require a physical connection for external CD players. Use the included 3.5mm to 3.5mm AUX cable. Plug one end into the CD100's headphone port (Ref.11) and the other into your car's AUX input. Set your car radio source to 'AUX'.
    • Option 2: Bluetooth Connection
      1. Switch the CD100 on and wait for the CD to load.
      2. Press and hold the Mode button (Ref.8) until the Bluetooth logo flashes on the screen.
      3. Put your car's Bluetooth system into 'Pairing Mode' or 'Search' mode.
      4. Once connected, the Bluetooth logo on the CD100 screen will stop flashing and remain static.

Important Note on Car Compatibility: Many modern car Bluetooth systems (including those in 2021 models) are designed to connect to smartphones (receivers) rather than external media players (transmitters). If your car radio does not 'see' the CD100 during a Bluetooth search, the AUX cable is the most reliable method to play audio through your vehicle's speakers.

    Question

How do I claim a warranty replacement for my Oakcastle CD100?

    Answer

To request a replacement for your malfunctioning Oakcastle CD100, you should contact Oakcastle directly through their official support channels. According to the manual and manufacturer information:

    • Warranty Registration: All products come with a standard 12-month warranty, which can be extended to 3 years (36 months) if you registered the product online at www.oakcastle.co.uk.
    • Contact Support: You can reach out to their technical support team via the "Contact Us" or "Support" sections on the Oakcastle website.
    • Troubleshooting: Before requesting a replacement, ensure the Hold switch (Ref.1) is not active, as this disables all buttons, and try charging the device for at least 4 hours until the indicator turns green.

Since you purchased the item via Amazon, you may also check your Amazon order history to see if you are still within the initial return/replacement window provided by the retailer.

  7. I am receiving a POU upside down on screen on cd player??

Joyce McGill asks I am receiving a POU upside down on screen on cd player??
    Manuals+ clarified question
    Question

What does the 'POU' error message mean on my Oakcastle CD100 display?

    Answer

The Oakcastle CD100 manual does not list a specific "POU" error code. However, based on the display layout, it is highly likely you are seeing one of the following messages upside down or misinterpreted:

    • HOLD: If the On/Off/Hold switch (Ref.1) is set to the 'Hold' position, the buttons will be inactive and the screen will display 'HOLD'. Ensure the side switch is moved to the 'ON' position.
    • PROG: If you have accidentally pressed the PROG button (Ref.7), the device enters Program mode and will display 'P01', 'P02', etc., to indicate track slots. Press the STOP button (Ref.9) to exit this mode.
    • ASP: The screen may display 'ASP' to indicate that Anti-Shock Protection is active.

If the text is truly upside down, ensure you are holding the device with the Oakcastle logo at the top. If the player is unresponsive, try switching it OFF and then back to ON using the side switch (Ref.1).
