    Question

How can I list or configure multiple target phone numbers for Call Forwarding on the Yealink W60B/W56H?

    Answer

On the Yealink W56H handset, Call Forwarding is typically configured for a single destination per forwarding type (Always, Busy, or No Answer). To manage these settings on the handset:

    • Press the OK key to enter the main menu.
    • Navigate to Call Features and then Call Forward.
    • Select the line you wish to configure.
    • Choose the forwarding type and enter the target number.

If you are using this phone with Ooma Office (as indicated by the manual context), you can manage more advanced call routing and multiple forwarding options through the Ooma Office Administrator Portal at office.ooma.com. Within the portal, you can set up External Forwarding or Multi-Ring features which allow for more complex handling of incoming calls than the handset menu alone. Please note that standard SIP call forwarding usually only supports one 'target' number at a time per condition.

    Question

How can I fix issues with the Yealink W56H regarding power loss, internet connectivity, and incorrect time settings for caller ID?

    Answer

Based on the Yealink W56H and W60B setup guide, here is a breakdown of the issues you reported:

    • Power and Internet Dependency: The Yealink W56H is an IP Phone (VoIP). Unlike traditional analog phones, it requires both a constant electrical power supply to the base station and an active internet connection to function. If either fails, the phone will disconnect. To prevent this, you may consider connecting your base station and internet router to an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).
    • Time and Caller ID Issues: Incorrect time settings usually occur when the phone cannot reach its NTP (Network Time Protocol) server or if the Ooma Office account settings are incorrect. To fix this:
      1. Ensure the handset is properly paired. If it says "Not registered," press and hold the pairing button on the base unit until the LED flashes, then press the Reg softkey on the handset.
      2. Log in to your Ooma Office portal at office.ooma.com and verify that your time zone is correctly configured under the user settings.
      3. Once the phone synchronizes with the Ooma servers, the date and time should update automatically, which will then correctly timestamp your caller ID records.

If the time remains incorrect after these steps, you may need to perform a factory reset on the base unit or contact Ooma support for server-side synchronization.

    Question

How do I set up and use the intercom feature on Yealink W60B and W56H handsets?

    Answer

To use the intercom feature on your Yealink W56H handsets paired to a W60B base station, follow these steps:

    • Internal Intercom: Press the OK key to enter the main menu, select Intercom, and then select the specific handset you wish to call. Press the OK key or the Send softkey to initiate the call.
    • Intercom to All: If you wish to page all handsets registered to the base, select All HS from the Intercom menu.
    • Answering an Intercom Call: The receiving handset will play a tone, and the screen will display an incoming intercom call. The user can press the Accept softkey or the Speaker button to answer.

Important Note on Range: Since you mentioned two physical sites (Office and Warehouse), please ensure both locations are within the DECT wireless range of the W60B base station (typically up to 50 meters indoors). If the warehouse is too far, the handsets will lose connection. If they are on separate base stations, you must use their Ooma Office extension numbers to call each other rather than the local Intercom menu.

If you need to enable "Intercom" specifically so that the receiving phone answers automatically, this usually requires configuration in the Ooma Office administrator portal or the Yealink web interface under Features > Intercom.
