    Question

How do I reset or recover my password for the BAANOOL 401 GPS tracker?

    Answer

If you have forgotten your password for the BAANOOL 401 GPS tracker, you can attempt to reset the device to its default settings or use the default password if it has never been changed.

    • Default Password: The default password for the device is 123456.
    • Initialization (Factory Reset): To return all settings, including the password, to the default factory values, send the SMS command: begin+password (for example, begin123456 if the password was never changed).
    • Web/App Password: If you are using the BAANOOL IOT mobile app or web platform, there is a "Forget password?" link on the login screen at www.baanooliot.com that you can use to recover your account access.

Note: When sending SMS commands, do not include the "+" symbol; it is used in the manual to indicate that the words should be written together as one word.

    Question

How do I restart the car engine using the BAANOOL 401 GPS tracker after sending a stop command?

    Answer

According to the BAANOOL 401 GPS Tracker manual, the command to restore fuel and power supply is resume+password. If your password is the default 123456, the command should be resume123456.

If the device is not responding to this command, please check the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Check SMS Format: Ensure there are no spaces in the command unless specified. The manual notes that "+" means the words should be written together as one word (e.g., resume123456).
    • Verify Password: If you have changed the default password from 123456, you must use your new password in the command. If you do not receive a response, the password or format may be incorrect.
    • Check Signal: Ensure the tracker's green light is flashing (indicating GSM signal) and the blue light is flashing (indicating GPS signal). If the device is offline, it cannot process the SMS command.
    • Authorization: Ensure you are sending the command from an authorized phone number. If authorized numbers are set up, the device may not respond to unauthorized numbers.
    • Hardware Reset: If the device remains unresponsive, you can try to reset it by sending the SMS command: reset+password (e.g., reset123456).

If the command is accepted but the car still won't start, there may be an issue with the relay wiring or the vehicle's electrical system after the fuel cut-off was triggered.

    Question

How can I unbind my BAANOOL 401 GPS tracker from a seller's account and register it to my own email if the IMEI label has been removed?

    Answer

To regain control of your BAANOOL 401 GPS tracker and move it to your own account, you will need the device's IMEI number and the ability to reset its settings. Follow these steps:

    • Retrieve the IMEI: Since the physical label was removed, you can find the IMEI by sending an SMS command to the phone number of the SIM card inside the tracker. Send the text: imei+password (The default password is 123456, so send imei123456). The device will reply with its unique IMEI number.
    • Reset the Device: To clear previous authorizations set by the seller, you can perform a hardware reset by sending the SMS command: reset+password (e.g., reset123456). Alternatively, to return all settings to factory defaults, send: begin+password (e.g., begin123456).
    • Register Your Own Account: Download the BAANOOL IOT app from Google Play or the App Store. Register a new account using your own email address.
    • Bind the Device: Log into your new account, choose "BAANOOL car," click "Add Device," and manually enter the IMEI number you retrieved in the first step.

Note: If the device is still "bound" to the seller's account in the BAANOOL cloud system, you may need to contact BAANOOL support (www.baanooliot.com) with your IMEI to request a manual unbinding, as the manual does not provide a self-service way to force-unbind a device from another user's account for security reasons.
